Snag
Hard to watch. Bad play calling, O line sucked today, defense needs a shut down corner and calm cool Tony Dungy wannabe isn't working. Ponder's deep ball is terrible and the receivers, O line and play calls aren't helping him much.
CANOPY SAM
All I can say is please give us a different offensive coordinator! Transparent play calling, missed tackles all over the place, astonishingly bad offensive receivers, substandard o-line, weak defensive pass coverage, and just foolish play calling! If it weren't for AP this team wouldn't have ANYTHING to talk about.I'm really sorry to sound so negative, but this gets really tiring year, after year. How can we justify building a BILLION dollar sports complex for this organization? It's just embarrassing to the state. Spend the money on building a top notch, Super Bowl contender, then work out the details for the sports complex when we have something to enjoy watching, and supporting! schmitty3
Pretty disappointing effort by the defense. Coming off the bye week I expected a better performance. So many missed tackles out there, and then not being able to get off the field on 3rd down. Greenway can look so good one week, and then so bad the next. D line was awful too. Couldn't get any pressure at all against a bunch of scrubs on the Bears o-line. Ponder is Ponder, a subpar quarterback. Don't know why he always seems to run right into the pressure. Just can't seem to read the pocket as it's collapsing. Simpson likes to attempt to catch balls with his chest pads rather than his hands, and drops more passes than he catches. Then you have Musgrave. No need to give the ball to AP when you have Ponder back there completing under 50% of his passes back to the line of scrimmage. It would be nice to have a receiver like Marshall though.
trolloni
its tough when ya spot em 12 points from turnovers, and offense is sputterring at best.i think they should take a hard look at the defensive backs coach Joe Cook ,been there 7 years , other teams just shred em with completions [always have]id say that really needs attention first! blue_healer_guy
drop balls aside, every team in this league cannot have the bradys, brees, rogers ect. But if there is anyone out there that thinks the future, franchise, game manager etc is ponder, your fooling yourself. cut ties with him now! JackPineGuy
we'll that PI call on winfield in the end zone was as bad a call as ive ever seen, then the vikes scored a touchdown (called and confirmed a touchdown on a field) Then suddenly the hometown refs decided ta change there minds.... I mean those to calls were almost as bad as the calls in the Seattle packers game with the backup refs...

aanderud
The vikes deserved to lose that game -- what were there, 5 turnovers to 1? Besides that, not converting in the red zone 2-3 more times? Bad play calling.I can't think of one positive thing from this game. Usually there's something...even if it's just special teams...even if the return game was mediocre and punting was good. Today -- nothing. Zero. Zilch. When it's third and 2 from the 7, and you do a rollout pass (to Ponder's left?), then on 4th and 2 you do the same play, and you've got the league leading running back on your team, something is wrong. Seriously, he is trying to prove that he's a steve young or something, but his accuracy sucks to start with and doesn't get any better when he's rolling out. MuleShack
I know one thing i would do is make old Simpson carry a ball around all week so he knows what it feels like to have one in his hands it was a close game until about 5 minutes into the first quarter. Adrian got his yards, but that's about all that went the vikes way today. The good thing is the pack got beat up today, so that probably doesn't boad well for us next week. Big Dave2
Looks like the Vikings should have drafted Colin Kaepernick instead.
96trigger
Simpsons dropped pass on 3rd down on the 1st drive of the game set the tone for the offense. I can't believe how many passes they dropped that ponder actually put in their hands. He also had some throws that were very off target. It's going to be a struggle to get to 500 this year. After the Pack got smoked last night, I think we are going to see a fired up Pack team that might run up the score. Too many turn overs, awful officiating, weak quarter back with poor accuracy and lousy vision, recievers that can't catch a cold. These problems really need to be addressed in the off season. Hard to watch these games.
PurpleFloyd
Glad we drafted that franchise LT that was going to solidify the line for the next decade. E certainly had no need for any WRs until the middle rounds.

Big Dave2
Maybe the Vikings can pay the Bears $800,000 and get out of their next game?
snoozebutton
How much did the Vikings pay for Simpson and Carlson again? Ooh ooh ooh, I know, I know.Carlson $25,000,000 for 5 years ($9,100,000 guaranteed.) ((3 catches for 8 yards so far this season.))Simpson $2,000,000 a year. (11 receptions for 137 yards in seven games, suspended for the 1st 3 games for drug distribution and now has a bulging disc in his back.) cheddar 86
Looks like the Vikings should have drafted Colin Kaepernick instead. See that's the thing that bothers me the most. There's all these other "obscure" quarterbacks that fall (or do they actually know what they are doing) into the laps of other teams who don't even truly need a quarterback at the time. Granted Kaepernick has only played two games and he may get figured out by other teams - but jeez we could use some luck one of these years. Thing that sucks is we have signed the driftwood for so many seasons recently that this whole hit and missed qb drafting is going to take awhile to get used to. T-jack, Ponder...who's next? YiGGiN4SLoBS
All i know is whoever IS the next QB it better not be Rick Spielman making the call. ive been done with that guy since last season. Studwell and his scouting goons need to be held accountable too... Outside of Adrian Peterson and Harvin, two players that fell into their laps that ANYONE would have drafted, these guys have done NOTHING to improve the team besides possibly rudolph and Khalil, MAYBE Harrison Smith(who has disappeared since the cardinals game) and Blair Walsh who is a frickin kicker! Every move they make goes the wrong way, including coaching hires. This team cant afford to let Spielman and his minions screw up another off season and draft imo. JackPineGuy
im not one of those guys who demands players be traded after an loss, but i do seriously think jerome simpson should not be a viking after this season, or maybe before the end of the season. My 6 year old niece could have caught those 8 yard passes.
Slabasaurus
I remember it just fine. Favre was certainly no worse than Ponder and he was injured the entire season. What's Ponder's excuse? He has about the same amount of time to drop back before he's driven into the ground.he's not hurt all season yet because he's in his 20's.Favre would have been fine if he weren't 90 when he was playing for us.
