Fish house will be packed up tonight and tomorrow will be a VERY long day at work. Leaving at 3pm tomorrow for the 3 hour journey north. Get to camp get set up and start gathering wood for fire. It doesnt get any better than that!!

Probably early Friday morning for me, it is three hours to my land. I will have the rest of the day on Friday to get everything squared away and shake off the city... Best event of the year. To all, hunt hard, be sure of your target, hunt safe, and have fun.

Saturday morning, its a brisk 5 minute walk from my front steps to my stand grin

hehehe...somebody's doing it right! No sense making work out of it.

Heading out first thing in the morning. Three hour ride. Set up camp and bow hunt for a day and a half. We hunt public land so a little scouting will be in order as well. My buddy from Bemidji will show up on Friday afternoon after all the work is done... laugh

I won't be leaving until a week from today. Both me and one of my hunting buddies have different weddings to attend this weekend out of state. We'll be hunting hard from Thursday-Sunday.

Who plans a wedding on deer opener? I thought the MN deer opener was a national holiday.

Who GOES to a wedding deer opener ??

I thought I had it easy. I drive about 2 hours, but we've got some guys from the cities that have to put in a 6 hour drive to get up here. Everyone is normally up Thursday night for festivities on Friday.

Who gets married on deer opener....lol, no kids born or weddings I say from sept-dec. Feb-March no seasons then and fishing isn't its greatest smile

I'll be taking off work around noon on Thursday and then it's the 6 hour drive to LOW. Adult beverages Thursday night and then fine tune everything on Friday and get the pop ups out and climber in place and go to bed relatively early Friday night and hope we fall asleep.

I hear you I talked to some other guys that had a wedding to go to on Saturday. I don't care who it is, I'd be sending a card.

April I always thought was the best month to get married ice is crappy, but probably not gone, March Madness is over. That said I got married in December...
