Was there something too Rick constantly checking the rearview mirror at the end? Is he racing Carol back to the prison? Is he second guessing his decision?

The politics will be interesting when Rick explains his 'lone' decision to Daryl and the council.

I have to say, they picked it up a notch for this episode, finally.

I'm all for introducing a character just to see them expire. That is one of the things I enjoyed about Lost. You never knew if the new character was long term or boom. One of the best episodes on Lost was the introduction then demise of Arnst basically in one episode. It makes me more willing to pay attention to everyone they introduce.

I don't know that the show needs a moral compass. I think part of the story is the evolution of the balancing act without Dale beating them and us over the head with it.

Not sure that I like where they took Tyree. I wanted him to be level headed. Maybe he will after the talk with Michone. He's too much of a loose cannon so far.

Weird- I clicked on this thread thinking it was another Vikings discussion...

Whats the vikings??

I feel rick got her out cause the black guy would, and will kill her. Making waves inhouse.BUT Like I said its hard for us to watch every episode and oh so many questions from not seeing every show back to back!

Rick is essentially the reason Carol's daughter became a walker…the least he could is let this slide under the rug. She'll be back soon enough. I thought the 2 hippies was another waste of time, just like the crazy tent lady a few weeks ago. But for arguments sake, they did say they were in a group during the whole outbreak, and that they've only recently been alone. But still a waste of time nonetheless. Why wasn't the other group just grabbing every bit of medicine and supplies they could physically carry? Better to have it and not need it, than vice versa wink

Yea I was asking the same thing. Why not just load up the backpacks with all the extra medicine that was there?

More questions.

Did I miss the scene where Hershel grew his leg back? I assume he has a prosthetic from where. Where did it come from?

Why was Rick waiting for the hippy to return? What if he would have returned? That would have made for an awkward scene of him kicking out Carol in front of the new guy that he just accepted into the fold.

Scene at the car, 'One more thing before we go. Carol, you aren't good enough for us, but the hippy we don't know is. Let's go hippy. Don't forget to buckly up.'

Or, 'hey kid, sure you can join us. Wait, before we go I need to blind side this founding member of our group. Ok, let's go.'

So, is it safe to assume that Rick hadn't thought through kicking Carol out until the last scene at the car?

Next question. We know that Tyree is a loose cannon and fairly new. We know that Carol is a founding member of the group that she is looking out for the group's interests. So Rick decides on his own out in the wild that Tyree is a better baby sitter for lil Asz Kicker and kicks out Carol because she is unfit to be around his kids?

thought it was a good show and I was shocked he kicked Carol out. My head scratcher was in the college. So Daryl and all find the stash of meds and such, then they go and exit out some other door? What the heck? Why did they not go out the way they came in?

I was pulling for the hippies too, but that was short lived. I'm sure we are all thinking that Carol will return at some point in some way, separate group or something, maybe even with the hippie dude?

Glad to see Carol, A.K.A. Shane with purse, kicked to the curb...literally. I was laughing when Rick dropped her bag and essentially told her 'take a hike, psycho'. LOL. I have a bad feeling she'll be back, though.

Yes, two dramatic back to back episodes. They've finally raised the bar.

The reveal of the Gov was too cliché. You knew he was going to turn up as soon as Michone stopped looking. Might have been more fun for the audience to be informed about the governor while Michonne was out searching in vein.

They saved the Carol discussion with Daryl for another episode? Seemed strange. You would think the delay would anger Daryl more. I get that Rick is trying to earn the father of the year award but that information needs to be shared asap.

Maggies reaction to the news seemed clumsy. Like it was edited in at the last minute to placate the viewer.

I still don't get Hershel's magic leg. He's what 55 and able to body slam a walker over the top rope? I guess he could also be immune to the flu if he's able to grow a magic leg.

He's still a good alternative to Dale. Doesn't beat you over the head with humanity.

What's with Lizzie? Crazy girl? Loved the walking backwards scene. Like an homage to cheese slasher movies. Looking forward to that story unfolding.

Carl comes back as an equal to Rick, helping him with the fence and unloading on the invasion. It's like he listens to Rick because he has too but has been on the same plane all along.

Magic leg? He has a prosthetic they supposedly found on one of their "runs".

Like Daryl said, he's a tough SOB. smile

I'm tired of the whiny Lizzie, A.K.A. mini-Carol, angle. They need to give her to the Governor as a peace offering so he can have a new daughter.

If your being chased down by a zombie I think you would amaze yourself with your physical abilities in attempting to get out of that situation wink

Easily the best episode this season! Interesting to see what happens next week, especially since the sneak peak didn't throw us a bone at all!

If you get bit by an animal that has been eating zombies, or has been bit by a zombie, would you get infected?

Just something I thought of when they showed that zombie being eaten on the side of the road when Rick was heading back to the prison.

Dirty secret of the show is the cost of all the zombies and extras make keeping stars as guest stars or non regulars a necessity, so they dont get paid more... they have to have a couple of episodes each season where you don't see a specific character... while I like these side stories to fill in other info, they do little to advance where we are at. Now they have a viable 2 story line set going again.

When I seen they were only going to focus on the governor, I thought the episode was going to suck! And it started out slow, but as it progressed it got better. By the end it was a great episode! And watching talking dead made it even better! I think it raises even more questions as to what will happen based on seeing him looking over the prison. My theory, he dropped off the 3 girls and it was kinda' his way of saying goodbye. Looks like next week is all governor too. But am intrigued at what he does with this new group.

Unfortunately I can't overlook unrealistic things in this show. And the obvious one this time was the old guy and his oxygen tanks. My grandpa uses oxygen, and his portable tanks are good for about 2 hours max! Time wise they gotta be well past the 1 year mark since the apocalypse began! With that being said, my wife (who hated the governor) is now a fan of his.

That scenario came to mind also when watching TTD.

Best scene IMHO: The Gov teaching chess to replacement-daughter, and the strategy of losing of pawns for the king to rule the board. I also loved the way that he, even when he was dehydrated and exhausted, simply side-stepped that walker all nonchalant and kept walking before meeting up with the sisters. I also am glad they gave us a little Woodbury closure and tied up a few other little loose ends with him.

Gotta say, even with all of his bat$h1t insanity issues, I think the Gov is a better long term survivalist and strategist that anyone in Rick's camp. Look at how difficult it is for Rick and Co. to keep a FORTIFIED, WALLED AND FENCED PRISON WITH GENERATORS AND ELECTRICITY safe, versus how the Gov got a whole dam section of town operating in its pre-outbreak state.

You just gotta look past those little things like torture, walker wrasslin', killing anyone to get their stuff, walker head aquariums, and keeping his walker-daughter in a cage in his den. Other than torturing ol' whats-her-name (we'll never forget her) he didn't really do anything to hurt his people that wasn't in their best interest. Yes, he stormed the jail and tried to assimilate and then eliminate Rick's group, but it he viewed Rick and Co. as a threat just like other armed bands, and rightly so. He only wanted the weak and not the strong, so no one would try to overtake him from the inside. Maybe he isn't the best person for the job, but it's hard to argue the results he was able to acheive.

One last talking point: Apparently dogs will eat a walker, so the meat isn't completely useless for other organisms. They decay but continue to move unlike most dead animals. Well, in nature, there is a process for dead animals to return to the earth that relies on a certain species that hasn't really been discussed: Insects. How in the world are there not millions of swarms of carnivorous bugs going to town on these walking buffets? A small animal will have hundreds of maggots on it, let alone other beetles that feast on dead tissue. The meat is in the muscle; take that away and you take away what gives them the ability to move. Bugs eat the muscle, the walkers can't move. I wouldn't happen overnight, but I'd say in a few months any current walker would no longer be a threat. It is the new walkers that would keep popping up that you'd need to worry about, but their numbers are a drop in the bucket compared to the initial outbreak, which would have ceased being a threat in a few months, a year tops.
