The win hasn't really sank in yet, thats for sure. I decided to become a co-angler 3 years ago for fun, learn a few things, and to see if I could really fish with those guys. Those questions were answered after my first tournament and it has been a phenomenal learning experience ever since.

This year has been a pretty disappointing year for me in regards to my finishes so far. But I've fished some incredible bodies of water (Lake Erie, Leech Lake, Green Bay, and now Oahe), learned a ton and have had a lot of fun along the way.

I was really bumming after the last tournament in Green Bay where I finished absolutely dead last. 141 boats and I took 141st place. frown That finish put me out of the running for qualifying for the Championship, not enough points.

My attitude coming into the Oahe tournament was along the lines of 'hey I'm not working, but going fishing on Oahe'. I was relaxed, ready to have fun, with no expectations whatsoever. Then we caught a 30" HOG on the 1st day of the tournament that put me in 3rd place. Very solid bag of fish on day 2 moved me up to 1st which paired me with Chase Parsons. And the rest is history. We were done early and back to the dock by 11am and let the waiting game begin.

There's some great info on FLW Outdoors HSOforum and this tournament will be aired on Versus network at some point in the future here. I can't wait to see what the show looks like.
