Dear Boat, I miss you already...

Don't get me wrong, I love to get out and ice fish. But there are very few places I would rather be then in my boat on a nice sunny day. I dont care if it is jigging for walleyes, throwing plugs for bass, or bobber and bait for sunnies.

It breaks my heart a little to see the boat sitting in the dark cold garage every morining when I leave for work.

I can't be the only one. Am I?

You are not alone. All winter long I sit in the boat thinking about fishing and what Ineed to get for the boat. Saturday night it was below zero outside and I was standing at the marina staring at the slip for next summer. (I think I have problems )

amen to that! i'd much rather be towing my boat up to LOTW tomorrow instead of the portables, snowmobiles and snowbear, but i guess i am getting to be too picky when complaining about that. i am extremely grateful just to be able to be fish another day on this great planet

I'm already setting up a fishing trip with a guide in May. I see my boat sitting in the garage and I know she wants to be out on the water just as much as I want to.

I'm with you guys all the way, after last years great season it was sad to see it go but I'll be on the ice this weekend, if the fish are still there like the summer.......... I'll be feelin' better!

Just got my confirmation reservation in the mail today for 5 nights at my favorite resort on the Ash River for a long Memorial Day Wknd. Now just need to line up a few trips to LOTW and Red ice fishing and before you know it summer will be here

I'm with ya. I picked up a new to me alumacraft on Halloween weekend. Used it once then sent it to storage. It's out of site but not out of mind.

Since going into storage it has added a SS prop,

picked out a new bow mount but waiting for santa before dropping the cash,

and eyeing a new depthfinder.

I have some ice fishing plans but my funds are only directed at the boat. No new ice fishing gear for me.

I go through horrible withdrawal this time of year.....I watch a lot of fishing shows, but sometimes that makes it worse !!

I would rather be in a boat anytime than to be on the ice. I'm really not complaining....I'm still alive and kicking !!

I put my boat away the last weekend of Oct. and was missing it by the time deer season opened. I figure it is only 17-18 weeks until ice-out up here.

I hear ya. I like to ice fish but I love my boat. Usually I get down to Pool 4 before the ice comes off the lakes, at least that's a partial fix!

The only good news is that it gives me some time to fix things and get them ready for the spring.

I am going to install a new trolling motor and depth finder this year.

I winterized my boat early this year and we had a nice Oct/early Nov.

I'll be breaking up the ice age in Jan with a trip to Florida to see my snowbird fishing buddy. We will be doing some bass and crappie fishing. Then we head for the coast for a couple days of tangle line charters. Then in late Feb. its off to KY to visit my brother and fish for some stripe bass in Harrington and Cumberland lakes. if we are lucky its up to Rainy for walleye In late March. I hope the boat doesn't get it's feeling hurt when I grab my rods and leave it in garage. "Ha"

Had a dream last night I was in my boat (that I haven't purchased yet, but will have one in less than a month) fishing... Caught a northern that fought hard enough to pull me in the water.

I swam to shore while reeling the fish in... once on shore I landed it, held it, and had a pic with it, released it, then I woke up.

I think I have a problem.
