Nick Punto... ex-Twin

I guess we'll see how badly his services will be sought by other teams. I recall an argument on this site earlier about how many teams would want him if the twins let him go so this will be the test.

If he ends up back on the team at a $1 mil salary or less I can see that as a possibility although have to think tolbert becomes the new punto.

Kubel got his option. Think $5 mil isn't bad for him especially if he can get back to 2009 season form.

The Twins will end up signing him to less money..... I'm not in love with the Kubel option either.... hopefully it doesn't mean we won't be signing Thome!!

kubel at $5 mil is much better than cuddyer at more than twice that amount...

I will agree that $11 million for Cuddy and $5 million for Kubel is too much for both/either.... however you want to look at it.

Cuddy at least has some position flexibility and can hit both left and right handed pitching.... Kubel is a below average outfielder, who can really only hit right handed pitching and offers you ZERO flexibility unless you consider the DH role flexibility..... I just PRAY everyday that this Kubel option doesn't mean the end to Jim Thome in a Twins uniform.... even if he hits half as many homeruns next year he is worth it.....

HAAAAAA Denny Hocking. Nice reference. Tolbert is better than Hocking. Hocking was brutal.

Hocking could have been good for at least 10-15 more sb a year if not for the massive wad of cope weighing him down and decreasing his aerodynamics.
