Does anybody NOT participate in FF?

I used to be BIG into fantasy football. I won pools a few times, but loved reading up on the up-and-coming players. The reality for me was that it sucked up too much time in order to compete the way that I wanted to do it. Sure I could have just taken a more laid back approach, but my approach over the past five seasons has been to just enjoy watching games. I don't need gimmicks and side-games to truly enjoy the sport of football. No more fantasy football, baseball, hockey, or NASCAR. No lineups to set. No nothing. Just a beer in one hand, the remote in another, and a relaxing smile on my face.

I don't play either. Have been asked many times to, but have no interest in it at all. Football is the only sport that I follow all year long, and like stated in the original post, I would rather enjoy and follow the real game being played than worring about what all my other players are doing.

I have ZERO interest in fantasy football (or any sport for that matter)! I have better things to do with my time then checking other players' stats and worrying about who to draft. Besides, aside from casually watching the vikes, I really don't care much for the NFL...college football is way better to watch!

I love football MORE BECAUSE of fantasy. If I weren't in fantasy, would I really care how Jamal Charles did? No, but since I am, I pay attention to all the teams including the Rams, Chiefs, Bucs, etc. that are bad, bad teams. Before, I only cared about watching the Vikes. BTW, around 10 years in FF and have yet to have a single Packers player on any of my teams.

Different Strokes for Different Folks. smile

Personally college football puts me to sleep. I have no clue why? I can't stand it, even the Gophers.

I agree. Fantasy Football gets you into more than just the Vikings on Sunday. I would "NOT" recommend to start it though. Just as I said 4 or 5 years ago "Fantasy Football Is for goofballs and nut-jobs". Well, after the first season of finally giving in to see what was up, you will get hooked. Next thing you know you are watching 5-8 games on Sunday and having instant updates sent via text to your phone.

I am sure like most anything the thrill will end down the road and I will move on to raking the yard again on Sunday or shoveling snow. smile

Yep, I play fantasy football. I'm a hardcore football fan and fantasy football just makes every game more intersting. Normally I wouldn't care when the Bengals and the Browns play, but if I have Ochocinco in my lineup the game actually means something to me... haha!

I played my first season of FF last year. I thought it was kind of silly how people got so worked up by it and almost didnt even play last year, I just didnt get it. After playing it a season I too think it makes football a little more interesting outside of your favorite team. Had enough fun with it I am looking forward to playing it again this season.

If you're a true football fan any game is fun to watch. If you are a homer and only watch "your" team I guess fantasy football would provide entertainment. Personally I watch the game because I enjoy it, whether it be pro. college or high school.

I started playing ff in 1985, played for about 12 more years. It consumed my mind constantly, maybe I took it a little to seriously(I watched any game I had player in or my opponent had players in). Then my kids started growing up and I ended up coaching travel sports year round so I wasn't able to put much time into watching football. So I quit playing ff, couldn't be happier about the decision, much more time to do things and way less stressful Sundays. Now I watch the Vikings and thats about it.
