we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 25, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 25, 2010 QB Brett Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder that it is highly unlikely that he will return next season. Favre said he has not made his final decision but it will not take him long to announce his decision.
gundy89
Ed Werder's an [PoorWordUsage] and put no stake in what he says. Actually, ESPN as a whole is pretty crappie. When Florio, Schefter, or Laconfora report it, maybe I'll listen.I'm not saying he's coming back, but look at who's reporting it.

BigGrassBass
He'll be back. He just had his best year ever, and that's saying something. The Vikes will be one of the top teams again next year. Trust me, he wants to be a part of that.

Yep, had they won the Super Bowl, I would say he wouldn't, but he didn't accomplish BOTH things he wanted to this season, only one- and that was beating the Pukers twice. Lip'em
Ed Werder said the same thing last year! What the BLANK does Ed Werder know! Probably made it up so he could get his recognition on Sportscenter every five minutes of the day. Can't even watch ESPN today without being nauseated by all the "will Favre return next year?" talk. This guy says he will...this guy says he won't...this guy uses percent chance of comeback...this guy uses pie charts and bar graphs...this guy heard that a guys best friend's sister heard Favre tell Chili that he may or my not be back next year...Lets be honest with ourselves here people, we are not going to know fore sure until probably the end of preseason, even if the Silver Fox comes out and retires tomorrow that don't mean nuthin'. It's no wonder nobody on sportscenter seemed to want the Vikings to win that game, hell, what would they talk about for the next six months on ESPN NFL Live? I think everyone at ESPN is thankful that the Vikes lost that game just so they could butcher the hell out of the "will he return" headline!Personally, I hope he is back next year but I am not going to fall for all the hyped up media know-it-alls like I did last year. Come the end of August I will read more into it. Maybe next year Chili should pick him up at the airport in a black mercedes or bentley, maybe that would help us when a super bowl, probably not, but this season was one of the most exciting and memorable seasons of my life time. Thanks #4. Anyways, I digress. Back to more important things in life like ice fishing and turkey hunting. Signed,Emotionally tired Vikes fan. SledNeck
Ill take the flip flopping circus right up until opening weekend rather than having TJack named the starter
Scott K
I say we pick up a good QB, dump T-Jack, tell Favre carp or get off the pot, and move on! Dont let Favre turn MN into the circus he did in GB.

zepman
I hope it's Favre but really, anyone BUT McNabb. This team needs a leader and he's the furthest thing from that. Can't stand him!!I'd rather see a rookie get the #1 job over him.
NTW
Second the opinion (I mean fact) on McNabbOnce Favre heals up a bit, he will want to play again.
james_walleye
I'll take Favre again. But what if the option isnt open? If the options are Jackson, McNabb, or a rookie QB taken with the 30th pick? I'll take McNabb.
Inthehollow
What ever he does it was fun watching him and the rest of the team.
zepman
Mcnabb would set this franchise back 5-7 years. I'd just as soon see TJack get his shot once and for all than to bring his arse in here.Mcnabb is the exact opposite of Favre...nobody, including his own teammates, likes the guy. T Jack had his shots and it was not good. We've seen the passing game with him at the helm and its not going to win playoff games. This cannot be said for McNabb. If you want the vikings to be setback a quick return to Jackson is the perfect recipe. Reports of Favre before he came to MN was that he wasnt a good locker room guy. greebs
why do people not like mcnabb? think about what he does on a team that has no running attack. I think he'd do very well with the vikes.getting back to the topic though, is anybody going to believe favre if he says he's retiring? I sure aint. zepman
I hear ya James...and your right...but, my opinions on McNabb will always be biased based on my dislike for the guy. This is all a ways off yet....
bottom-bouncer
I think the only way favre will ever hang it up for good is if they have to carry him off the field. he loves the game to much and it seems he is getting better with age not worse. He is coming back.
Coach1310
My only thought is... we are a "HELL of a lot better if he decides to comeback." I guess I don't care if he waits till August.... the sickening part to me is we are still stuck with Chilli!
