Where are those people now who thought it was ok to give Child his multimillion $ contract and extension. Lets hear those excuses.

Right here and why would I need an excuse?

We're bordering on Philadelphia here folks. Andy Reed should be fired the Eagles lost to the Raiders and Cheifs.... oh wait they may be the best team in NFC right now guess we can wait on that one..

Not that this going to sit well with the taking it to seriously crowd but Carolina was 12-4 last year. They held New England to 16 points on the road last week and are playing pressure free and for pride... its an easy game when nothing is on the line...

Go Vikes!

I watched a little ESPN this morning. They were talking about how the Vikings were keeping max protection in while Carolina was only rushing three, and Peppers was still getting to Favre. At that point, they thought it made sense to get T-Jack on the field. At least he could have scrambled for yards which Favre can't anymore. With eight in coverage it would be hard for anyone to get a pass down field, especially when you fear for your life. Add in a mobile QB and the defense has to react.

I think that the biggest issue now is that Childress needs to be the coach, and bench a player when he wants to. Favre flat out told him "no," which is a slap to the face. Who is in control of this team. Right now it appears to be Favre and that was what doomed the Packers in the early half of this decade. Favre was at his best when Holmgren and then McCarthy laid down the law. Childress needs to do the same or he's doomed to the same fate.

The panthers lost to a 8 and 5 team and the score was 20 to 10 where do you get the 16 points. Yep something to be proud of losing to a team that lost. whistle

Or are you stating the Vikes are not good enough to win against a 8 and 5 afc team at that particular time.

Ahhh, this is nonsense, we would be up [PoorWordUsage] with out a paddle if it wasn't for that stubborn old man. Everyone needs to quit jumping off the bandwagon and relax.

I havent jumped the wagon, just stating, if Childress wants to keep respect with the team, he should bench Favre next week, regardless of he is our better chance at beating Chicago! If he doesnt bench him, then why would any of the other players listen to what he says? Right or wrong, the head coach needs to have the final say, regardless who it is!

Agreed! Favre should sit next weeks game for not doing as told!

I can not stop giggling, you cant be serious!!!! Yep bench farve, throw away the number 2 seed, because all Favre wants to do is Win! Mabye Childress should set out next week for not doing his job!!! I mean come on! Make some adjustments, high school coaches do a better job.

I am serious! What good will the team be if they all did what they wanted, or what they felt was right instead of what the coach told them to do? Like I said, right or wrong, the head coach needs to have the last word!

Obviously we stand a better chance at winning with Favre in, but if Childress wants to continue coaching in the NFL, he needs to not let the players, regardless of who they are, do what they want to do!

I am not saying that Childresses decision to pull Favre was the right one, although I didnt dissagree with him! Why let Favre get killed in there, we need him in the playoffs. Thats why we have a back up QB, to take the punishment when you cant prtect your starter.

Maybe Chilli should have been a little more assertive if he wanted Favre to sit out the rest of the game. I agree that it doens't bode well with the rest of the team, but COME ON Chilli quit being such a wuss and stand up for yourself. If you want to bench a guy do it.

Using my best 93x morning show Brett voice:

"SILENCE! WHO wishes to speak with Brett?!? IGNORING coach Childress PLEASES Brett!"

But back to reality, I do think if the words come out of your mouth you better think about following through. It's no different than raising your own kids:)

The Vikes will be fine.

Relax and enjoy the season. This loss may be just what the Dr. ordered. I hope so anyway.

Well for a game we really didn't need, they could have rested Favre for the "Super Bowl"later! laugh

How did we not need this game??? We were playing for the conference lead as well as a first round bye, with the loss we will be playing for the first round bye the next few weeks! so yes it was an important game!!!

You don't take out Brett Favre in that situation. I'm glad Bevel and Favre talked some sense into Chili and they got ti right on this one.

As far as the team respect and chemistry thing goes it would have been far more detrimental to have yanked Favre in that situation.

IMO, it more than likely had would have been season over if they yanked him with the lead.

Glad they got it right..

The run for bowl is wide open again and another Wild-Card Super Bowl champ is as good a possibility as any.

Uh, didn't you all say that after the loss to the Cardinals? I agreed with that then, but then losing to the Panthers exposed something else.

The Bengals have a good defense and didn't seem to incorporate much of the Cardinals' defensive strategy...maybe out of arogance, I don't know. The Panthers used the same Cover-2 zones that the Cardinals utilized and again made it hard for the Vikings to do anything. I would have said that the Vikings were fine if they had learned and adjusted after that eye-opening loss to the Cards. It appears that they are trying to move on without learning a thing. That's the problem.

Trust me, there's high school coaches out there who are just as bad as Chilly.
