I'll be checking a few lakes near my house for ice and I'll probably try to hit White Bear early too. It's too close to work not to!

Ditto Shizzy, first walkable ice I can find locally. No early trips planned yet, but I'll most likely hit river backwaters SE mn as soon as ice allows. I'm super stoked for first ice.

Small water in the NE Metro just to get the auger wet... After that White Bear, can't pass it up as it is across the street.

Rebel - I'm up for hitting white bear pretty much any weekday when the ice arrives. Weekends get crazy out there, but that's the norm with most metro lakes. I might be fishing more of Wisconsin then.

Hopefully I can duplicate my first ice fishing of last year. The day after thanksgiving, evening just before dark, landed a fat 30" walleye. I hope to be on the same lake in the same area!!

My first fishing hole will be on the first local lake generous enough to have 3 inches of ice. Last year it was the weekend before thanksgiving, I'd settle for that again this year.

Probably Mille Lacs when I can get a snowmobile or wheeler to the flats. Maybe walk out on some local lakes.
