OnAFly
Ted - That spot looks very familiar. If it's where I think it is, I used to fish it a lot when I lived in Eagan and could hop over there easily. Nice fish nonetheless.

chocolab
my sons first trout caught last year(it was snowing on the opener), on a panther martin. he was so excited but tried to hide it, though you can see it on his face. it was an awesome time. JIvers
I don't normally fish for trout until about the walleye opener, but with the freakish warm March morel season came early this year in southeast Minnesota, so while I was there looking for mushrooms I fished a couple small streams this past Monday. The first stream was a wild Brown stream in eastern Fillmore County. This little guy is my first trout of the year: My best fish there was this 14": I kept two fish there, including this one who had a gut full of slugs--how do you match that hatch? I saddled up and headed east to a small headwater stream with wild brookies. Here is my first brookie of the year: I didn't measure my biggest brookie, who had a fiery orange belly, but he might have went 11": As others have mentioned here, the water was very low and very clear for April. Except for the short weeds and the frost, it was like trout fishing in August.
