LPCrowRiverFisherman
Snag someone elses line and bring in 2 fish. I snagged a birds nest of line and caught 2 shortheads, there was a total of 3 hooks in the mess.
Carp-fisher
I've snagged one line with a fish, but never a two fish rig like that. Nice picture!
LOTWSvirgin
What a catch. You prolly saved the ones life. I once caught to smallmouth on the same rap the were only 10-12 inch.
JBMasterAngler
I've caught line that had clams on them. Las time was on pepin a few weeks ago, 2 clams that were covered with zebra mussels. Took off the mussels, and temporarilly saved the clams lives (until they are smothered again by zebes).
Northlander
Snagged a stick with 6 walleyes on it once. It was evidently a make shift stringer being used by somebody up river from me on the St. Louis.
mainbutter
I never have, heard a good fish story (that I can only assume is crazy enough to be true) about a guy hooking up with a halibut, dropping the rod, and then someone catching another halibut about a half hour later that got wrapped up in the original line, allowing them to catch both halibut and retrieve the fishing pole. Similar thing happened to me and my buddies last winter on Red. We left the house for 45 minutes to have dinner next door. We weren't catching a thing so we figured it'd be fine to leave lines in. I came back with a buddy to check on our lines and notice one rod missing and the rattle wheel going crazy. Set the hook on the rattle wheel and a nice northern came up the hole along with my other buddies fishing pool! Hoorah!
mrfish1991
I was once fishing a dock and i snagged a rig someone had broken off...it was a wacky rig (i had never fished with a wacky rig before so i thought i would try it) wacky rigs are now my favorite way to fish for bass on my local lakes and I easily caught over 75 bass on them this year. picksbigwagon
I was once fishing off the French river in Lake Superior throwing out 1 ounce rooster tails and snagged a line and a silver and blue Kastmaster connected to a looper. The DNR guy doing creel work came down to measure and take samples and as I was putting the looper back, he asked me what I was doing. I explained to him how I had caught the fish, and showed him the line and new lure. I did catch 3 more loopers that day on that Kastmaster....Karma is a good thing......(I only kept one for dinner since the inlaws were at my house)

Deitz Dittrich
Saturday... I was dropshotting bass in 16 feet of water. and I could see this bobber about 3' under the water. I ended up taking my flipping stick and wrapping the line around the tip able to pull it up and felt pressure.. ended up hand lining a 2 lb bass in.. still felt pressure, and hand lined the rod still attached. harvey lee
A new rod for Dietz. Did it have a Shimano reel on it Dietz??
Deitz Dittrich
LMAO @ Harve.. as a matter of fact it did .. granted it was only a FX one of their cheapest models.. but the rod was a pack rod. Which I thought was kinda cool.
JeffB
I had a buddy catch one of those metal fish baskets that go into an oar lock on a boat. He thought he was snagged on some thing. He pulled up his limit of eyes all in one shot. I don't know how long they were down there but they were all alive and well.

matthothand
Northlander caught my stringer;) I finally got my first double while prefishing for a tourney. Two 3lbers on a dt10. That was enough to back off and take 2nd a few days later. I've caught rods and old line with fish but never 6 at once. Steve, you win this one. dirtking
I caught a walleye with a metal stringer ring (just the clasp not the whole stringer) through its bottom lip. I removed the stringer and threw back the walleye. I am thinking the fish is mad at me - it was probably the only walleye in the lake with a little bling - bling
Down Deep
Snagged a stick with 6 walleyes on it once. jigginjim
I have not caught a fish snagging another line yet. So far this year I caught a broken tip-up. snagged the sinker next to the hook, I thought I would never get to the end. I also caught an old reel, the knuckle buster type, the rod must have rotted off.
fishdale
A guy I was fishing with set a hook on a fish and dropped the rod/reel in. After fishing for it for a while we quit and pulled up the fish marker and the fish (rock bass) had wrapped the fishing line around the marker line and we got the rod/reel back. genegodawa
I have had three successes and two failures at retrieving a pole or basket overboard:1. Lost one in Cass many years ago while drifting with a dead line (before we knew that was illegal - so no wonder Gumbali, the Fish God, took my pole) and the owner gave us a big grappling pole the fire dept used to use to drag for dead bodies, but we never did get it back.2. In TN one time off the dock, my son's friend dropped a rod over the dock in about 12 FOW and after a few tries dragging a heavy Daredevle, I got it back by hooking it in one of the eyes.3. Caught a rod and reel off the bottom at a small lake while casting for bass about 7 yrs ago....reel still works.4. While netting my buddies cat 3 yrs ago, my bobber went down and rod and reel went with it over the other side of the boat. I casted for it, and I was lucky to hook it and retrieve it in only two tries. One time, my sis's line broke above the bobber and we eventually saw it return to the surface near a patch of reeds so we trolled slowly over to get the bobber. When we got close, it dove a few feet under. I circled and came at it again and it dove again so I knew a fish was on it still. Two tries later I reached under water to grab the line and hand-over-handed a nice size bluegill in, also saving her hook, line and bobber. And as for losing some, as a youngster I untied our wire basket with several nice pannies in it but forgot to hold onto the basket. My Grannie was sad since she had a real nice White Crappie in there. Came back with my Dad but we could not snag it.Aren't really true fish stories great?
