croixflats
Leave it to a 40 year old "washed up" QB to be the first Vikings QB to have 300 yds in the last 63 games. hmmm! where are all the negatives at now? un real way to end that game I have not seen a viking QB do that in a long long long time How easy you forget those missed interceptions and why did it take him the whole game to figure out he has has legs and can use them. That interception that happened didnt even look like a viking had a play on it. You asked for them
Shack
Give us another of those wins next week and life is perfect. Give us these wins up to week 6, then life is perfect If we can break week six, I think the Viking curse is lifted or maybe waiting for the remainder of the season Go Vikes and Favre! PierBridge
ok, VERY FEW high profile QB's run full speed down field after a 20yd pass and throw a full on block to a linebacker like BF just did! That was great! Yeah but he just came back for the money, drama, and to burn the Packers he doesn't have fun or enjoy the game! Skisim Smisim.... tadster
Unbelievable throw and catch. I think Lewis deserves a chance to play after that catch. Great throw by Farve and a pretty good game by him. Unfortunately, the Vikes are still not putting teams away...had a chance to bury the niners and let them hang around. I have been skeptical about how good people think they are this year. I still believe they are hamstrung by unimaginative play calling and questionable coaching(childress, not Frazier). still to predictable. not enough play action on 1st or 2nd downs. trying to run wide on a good defense, etc. While the niners are a pretty solid team, Hill is by no means a top nfl qb....and they played with their 3rd string rb... and it takes a miraculous play to win the game at home. if the vikes get through the 1st half of the season at 6-2 or 7-1...then I may start to believe they can get deep into the playoffs and maybe the sb...in spite of Childress... Steve Foss
I was on the road heading home from the lake and caught the last few minutes on the clock. It wasn't just the TD throw/catch, but the 80-yard no-hope drive with no timeouts that was signature Favre. Last year w/any of the Vikes' QBs it would have been 80 yards and no time outs = hopeless. One man can make a difference if he's the right man. And I have to admit, while I'm tooling down the highway in the rain listening to time run out on the Vikes and hoping the Pack and Vikes would be tied at 2-1 at the end of the day, there was still a little bright spot in the back of my mind that wished Favre well, even if he is now playing for the enemy. You guys were lucky to get him. You should be thankful. Thanks for the video link, LMIT. Looked like old times there for a minute until all the purple ruined it! It's a very young 3-0, but it feels pretty darned good, doesn't it? I'm, uh, not feeling that good about next week's matchup.

I havent seen so much confiendence in our offense in a very long time.
Wadinator
I am shickled tit-less! Today showed why we went out and got Brett Favre. No other QB on our roster could have come close to his performance. However, I hope we don't often have to ride the old horse as hard as we did today. Favre took a beating, and worked the heck out of that old arm. Its nice to confirm that we have the capability, but now I'd much prefer to ride the young legs of our backs whenever possible. Save the Favre magic for special occasions.

Mudcutter
I haven't seen a more accurate post on here. WOW. Someone who understands the game. HOW Favre led them down from the 20 with no TO ,,, is something else. anyone notice on the spike before the "the play" how Favre made sure every one was lined up right?? Otherwise it's a 10sec run off, and likely buzz kill, game over,,, and then hurried up to center and spiked the ball?? Also -- the pump fake about 1 sec into the "the play" is not noticed by many,, but the def will react, and might have been the differnce in inches from the safety/corner getting a hand on the ball. Also-- as many have said, this is not FAvre's first rodeo,, the ball was lazered to the back end of the endzone,, where it hardest to defend, and catch. But like the old silver fox says, "you got sling it to have chance"
Jim Uran
Defintely a game that Favre took the team on his shoulders and led them to victory. A LONG drive with no timeouts, I agree with Steve Foss about if it were last year if would have been hopeless!!

Scott K
It was nice seeing Favre do that "for" the Vikings, instead of "to" the Vikings for once!

pegleg
I would have to give some credit to Greg Lewis also... That was an amazing catch keeping his feet in and also not juggling the catch.
Badger
Any doubter's left now? Funny....there would have been doubters had the cornerback for the 49's returned Bretts pass for a pick 6 the previous series. Bottom line...Brett pulled it out again. Another 4th quarter come back for one of the best that ever played the game.
Jim Uran
Funny....there would have been doubters had the cornerback for the 49's returned Bretts pass for a pick 6 the previous series. But, he didn't!!! That 49ers team is tough, I like Singletary as a coach.
eyehunter
I agree, Singletary has really turned that team around. I'll tell you what though, I was there yesterday for the game and even though about 1/4 of the people left at the 2 minute warning...that place just erupted when Lewis caught that pass, and when they showed the replay on the big screen while the officials were reviewing it....man was it loud in there. That by far was the best Vikings game that I have ever been to. One other thing....There is only one quarterback on that roster that could have made that throw, and he did!! Scott K
4wanderingeyes quoted "I never wanted him, and I still dont" at the beginning of this post. You change your mind yet! Nope! But I stand behind my team 100%, and he is the QB of my team, so that does mean I support Favre. #4 did win the game for us yesterday with a great pass to the end zone.I have always thought Favre was a better QB then what we had. I just wanted Cutler, or some other good young QB to lead our team. I have never liked Favre, and I still don't, but I do like the Viking's, even with Favre as QB. I have total respect for him for what he has done as a player in his career, I just didn't want him to be "our" QB.
james_walleye
Many, many times we've seen the vikings find different and amazing ways to lose games. It was good to see them find an amazing win for a change. I was there as well and in that endzone that Lewis made that catch. That catch was sick, especially coming off the bench cold.
