From -15 here Thursday morning to almost 60 here on Monday I think I best get out there right after cleaning the garage this morning who else is heading out today with there sun screen woooohooo!!

i know it will melt but will it melt away the shore ice? i just started ice fishing agian this year since i was a little kid and havent paid much attention to what the ice does in the spring..

I think it will take awhile for the sun and temps to do a lot of damage. It takes a lot, to thin down 2 feet of ice.

I will be fishing next weekend It may take a plank to get out. We have alot of ice. The landings go quick though.

Sitting at work, trying to figure out if I can make it out anymore before the ice is out. Not looking real good. Will probably put the portable up in the garage, dry it out and store it for the summer. Was a good season.

i was out riding my snowmobile around, there is a good 4" of water in areas and along the shore where there is no snow is starting to melt good..

depends on where you are in the state. next weekend I'll be on mille lacs, and don't forsee any problems. southern mn with the near 70, that might be a different ball game!! as previously stated, the lake ice is safe for a long time, the issue is when the shore ice goes out.

I'm thinking that with spring around the corner and nice weather starting to stick around that I probably have too many things to do at home to be able to get out on the ice... I suppose I will just have to wait for the open water to get out the next time.

I'll be out tomorrow, and hopefully a couple times this week and next weekend. Got a lake cleanup on Saturday so I know I'll be on the lake for sure!

I was on Chisago today and I bet there is still 28" of ice. The problem I saw was all the run off running into the lake at the access. You may still be able to get on the ice next weekend, but you'll need your rubber knee boots and a 12' 2x12.

Same here and there's some good fishing going on right now. Getting the boat out will be nice but I love ice fishing this time of year.

I've been working non-stop and am with hondarider, time for the open water . And spring, I can't take anymore colds, my employees love passing them on and I've had this one for 4 days . Make them stop! I was out last weekend and got some nice crappies with friends though . Already making my list of fun things to buy for next ice fishing season, and I may actually be living in a house instead of my apartment to store them at!!! Woohoo!
