so my friend told me about this spot where you average 3-4 cats/hour and all are over 10 pounds. naturally i didn't believe him.

so he starts sending me a bunch of pictures like this one

i just got word i'll be going to Virginia Tech for a masters in fisheries... studying flatheads and channels in the New River.

My advisor was out on the river and he snapped this picture of a fisherman with his catch. No word on the size but looks pushing 20 pounds to me!

I'm pretty excited to check out a new area. If only they had a HSO.com like forum for the area!

yep they don't have much for catch and release down there... you can use trotlines, jug lines, and limb lines too. i think they're lookin to change though and start preserving the resource a bit more
