Big Buck Buster
Does anyone have any pics of the reflectix installed? I would like to see what it looks like before I go for it. Sounds good though. I took some pictures of mine, but For the love of God, can't figure out how to get the pictures loaded onto this site. I can't just cut and paste my pics. I can post the pics if someone can help me with loading the pics to this site. Thanks.

Mainehazmt
I kinda did the same thing in my otter village my question to you is do you remove them each time or a perm set up I have been removing it from mine each time I take it down
Big Buck Buster
I will be leaving mine in. If it builds up too much moisture inbetween the insulation and the canvas, then I will remove it. Time will tell.
BoxMN
I leave mine in my otter cabin all the time. Works slick. Just like BBB's but mine does not go all the way down the back. It barely makes any difference in folding the poles down, and no weight difference at all - like well under a pound.
Big Buck Buster
I am wondering if the reflectix is going to work the opposite on the warm days. Will it keep the heat from coming into the house? I will have to find out when a warm spell comes in.
BoxMN
Nope BBB, it still gets warm in there
Big Buck Buster
That is good to hear. Less heating cost.
Norsky
Where do you get the reflectix? Menards- Home Depot???
Big Buck Buster
I purchase mine at Menards. 48" x 25' roll for $31.00.
picksbigwagon
I did the same thing except I didn't insulate the back of the house. Most of the heat goes up, but I guess lining the back wouldn't be a bad idea either. I have never had condensation or ice on the ceiling of my portables after using reflectix. and yes it does stay bright in there as well
Bigslugger
I went to buy this stuff at Home Depot today and they only special order it...In 100' rolls for $50. I would do it but don't need that much.Maybe someone would like to split it half and half??
hoggs222
Menards has it. Lowes didn't carry it by me.
Bobby Bass
I think it is even on sale this week at Menards
nater
I picked up mine at Menards and it has worked wonders. Thanks everyone on here for the idea in the first place a couple weeks back. I bought my portable used and it has nearly transparent canvas on it so i needed it bad. Used zip ties to attach it to the poles with no issues so far. I put it down the back and try put my back to the wind and it helps keep the wind out to, until it switches on you.
Hard617
Fleet-Farm also carries the stuff.
Hafnutz
FF had it on sale last week. Maybe still do.
Jari Razskazoff
I get no condensation what so ever, even on the coldest of the days... well I guess i haven't been out on the coldest cold days, but you know what i mean. Warm in the warm, warm in the cold. Reflectix works the best behind you, you can literally feel that its warm on the reflectix, and cold behind it.... Reflectix is basically metallic covered bubble wrap.
CJH
Anybody tried using it on the ceiling of a perm? I would think the heat retention and extra light would be a no brainer. Especially considering the light weight requirements of a perm.
Jordyn Kaufer
How do you install this stuff in a portable?I'm buying a new porty Friday and have never moded one before
Big Buck Buster
I just slipped the Reflectix between the support poles and the canvas, and cut slits where the Velcro straps hold the canvas to the poles. It is very simple installation. I have nothing permanent, so I can take it out if I need to.
