MUSKY18
The Vikings hold onto the terrible head coaches, while their over qualified assistants move on to other teams and win Superbowls!! Billick, Dungy, and now maybe Tomlin? What does it take for the ownership to see the light!

zamboni
This year is the cream of the coaching crop:VermeilCowherShanahanDungyHolmgrenBillickGrudenAll available, and all have Super Bowl rings. Not to mention Schottenheimer is out there yet, and his post season record might stink, but his regualar season record is excellent. They will all either be gone or not ever coach again. But we won't offer any of them contracts.
BlueLundFishrman
The Vikings don't want a coach who can win the SuperBowl. It's part of their mystique.
basssmasher*
Tomlin isnt going anywhere, Gruden is there to be had too, I say Chilly is gone by game 4 of nxt yr
Sandmannd
We wil hang on to Chilly like we did with Tice till all the good coaches are picked up. Then let him go either mid-season or at the end of next year and there will be no one available. I think Ziggy sees it as if he fires him it will show fans he's failing?? walleyes12
I just don't understand!!! Too many good coaches out there to hang on to an average coach at best
fishinphilth
An average coach also got us to 10-6 and the playoffs. Yeah he has some play calling problems and stuck with T-Jack, but 10-6 and playoffs shouldnt get you fired from your job. Dont get me wrong I am not a fan of his, but he has improved and would you expect to get fired at your job if your improving?
Scott K
He has improved the team 1 more win since hes been here! Not very good in my books!
MUSKY18
The ONLY reason that we made the playoffs is because we are in teh weakest division in football. 10-6 was the best we could muster and in every other division except for one, we wouldn't have made the playoffs. Kind of hard to push for a new stadium when the team is average, the fan base dislikes the coach and we can't sell out a playoff game without begging people to buy tickets! fishin58
Do you watch footyball or football? I am pretty sure Arizona was 9-7 and are now on there way to the Superbowl. Also check out the record of Confernece champs San Diego....Chili has improved 2 games a year and has cleaned out some of the thug mentality on the Vikes. FISHINGURU
oh heck yeah....we roll with chill-rad!! give him a few more years and we can probably start to run a 2 minute offense or manage the clock a little better!!

PierBridge
Like we said earlier in the year we could win the super bowl and these guys would still want him fired...

MarFish
T-Jac is not that bad of a QB if there was better play calling than run run pass every 3 downs they would be a little bit better of a team that is do to lack of recivers.I mean really who do we have. A dud in Rice who has had 2-3 touchdowns in 3 years oh thats right becouse he is out for 3/4 of every year becouse of bo bo's and Berrian he like Moss can only run the long ball. And Wade who is the best on the team but no STAR and a whole lot of no names thats why that can never open up any teams D becouse thay don't have good enough recivers to go 4 or 5 wide
james_walleye
He has improved 2 games a year? And your asking someone else if they watch football? He took a 9-7 team to 6-10 his first year, thats 3 steps backward. And you darn well better improve on 6-10 when you add the likes of AP, Berrian, and Jared Allen in that span. zamboni
Yeah I have to agree that we are not in the worst division in the NFL. SF, Seattle, St Louis and Arizona. Enuff said. I said before we are in a BAD division, and that whomever from the North went to the playoffs would get bounced in the first round, but the West is by far the worst out there. No way would he leave the colts for any other team, especially the vikes. Vikes don't have a chance at shanahan, remember he wants to play for a team that has a shot at the super bowl.As for the rest of them, they would actually need money, which the vikes don't like to give to head coaches, they would rather see another tice, than a super bowl ring. Billick, Dungy, and now maybe Tomlin? What does it take for the ownership to see the light! I apoligize if this has been said but I didn't have time to read through all the posts on the topic. How do you propose keeping a guy from taking a head coaching job? You can't pay a coordinator enough money to keep him from taking the promotion which would come with a big raise most likely. Instead of blaming the Vikes for "letting" these guys go maybe we should be pleased that the vikings have a history of hiring solid coordinators. If the guy wants to go there is nothing that you can do. Just like your boss can't stop you from taking a better paying job at another company.
PierBridge
#1 On that coaches list, how many of them want to coach again?#2 Good coaches leave MN, for the fans never give them a chance. Hey the Vikings just fired their coach after Winning the Division...maybe I should take that job....then again maybe not...LMAO!You can't make this stuff up. I hate to give LMITOUT credit here but I think he's on to something with his Minnesota sports fans theorys...LOL.
zamboni
not quite 'all available' Dungy is off the market. No way would he leave the colts for any other team, especially the vikes. He did leave the Colts, but he retired, but everyone knows money talks. He has just as much a shot to come here as any other team in the NFL, he went to college here and was the coordinator here. timjones
The legislature won't help Ziggy get a new stadium so they are gone after 2011 anyway so don't fret about coaches and quarterbacks. Their outta here!
