vister
the click sound ya hear is the shutter. by the look of the info strip on the pic it looks like a moultrie camera. same i've got, and that "click" is the shutter.
Tippman
I'll be the first one to disagree then. I think he's running away. The pic is very blurry of him and the one part moving the quickest is his legs. It looks like it would be somewhat unnatural head position with his head if he were bedded. How long after was the next pic taken? It would be very odd to get a buck to come in, bed down facing away before any pic snapped, then not be in the next picture. I say he's definately running away. james_walleye
either im blind or my computer stinks because i cant see anything in that picture that looks like legs. i was going to suggest to that i thought he was bedded, my guess is there are more pics that were taken before this one... Dave S
maybe someone could put that photo into PS, enhance it and give us the truth. He looks to be bedding down to me.

bassNspear
kottke, that looks like a big deer
KOTTKE
Thats the only photo hes in, that is why I believe he was running thru. I would estimate that he is about 20-30 yrds from the camera. We have many photos of deer at that diatance with much better quality pictures. This is why I believe he is running away. Over 250 more photos and never in another picture. james_walleye
Lets see if i remember how to post pictures. I had this buck on my camera last night less than 24 hours after putting it out. I'll be slug hunting this land, a couple hundred yards from where the camera was. Any guess on what a gross score might be?
96trigger
Lots of points, good width, but lacking tine height. He should go 150+ but its really hard to tell how much mass is definitely around the base of the antlers, it looks like there is a lot of junk, but an accurate measure will have to be taken after you shoot it. He's definitely mature.

fishinmajishin
Pretty symmetrical. Without the extras, 145.
sticknstring
Mainframe 10 with lots of junk. He's a dandy... I'd have a hard time waiting 'til November. Get out there with the bow! That cam takes nice pics... that's the only negative with the IR's... no color.
Jim Uran
Wow that deer has some charcter. Good picture.
vister
Lots of junk, P&Y and B&C deduct that kinda stuff, but the buck only cares about gross. same as me. He's a dandy though, good luck with him!
archerystud
I'd call him a shooter with a lot of "character".
james_walleye
Yeah its not often in this area that i hunt that you come across a buck mature enough to get this kind of junk. He's got long beams from what i can see. What do guys estimate a spread to be. 18"?? I'd like to know the age of this buck as well. In an area where not many deer get to 3 1/2 is he older than that? Unfortunately i cannot get permission to bowhunt this land, but neither can anyone else. Last year i had a picture of a big 10 on my camera in the same spot and my friend shot him so maybe we can repeat that success.
fishuhalik
The buck in my avatar was a 10, looks like that one has a way bigger spread but the tines are kinda short so ya figure the spread adds 5 or so points, my buck scored a little 123 gross, so i'd say 135-140? Here's a bigger pic

Shack
JW and FH, nice deer guys! Just got done putting out my camera's and setting up some Black Magic plots. Hope to have some pics in about 4-5 days.
fishuhalik
nice looking deer fishuhalik! Thanks, I really wanted to let him go another year cuz he was only 2 1/2, but the area we're hunting has been getting hit really hard the last few years so i figured I'd get him before someone else did. james_walleye
Thanks. There must be something in the genetics in this area because most all the mature bucks i see have G3's longer than the G2's. I printed off all 8 pictures i have of him and showed a coworker who has shot alot of big deer and he thought the 5X5 frame was probably about 145" but its the junk and the character that makes the deer impressive. Hopefully i'll get a sniff of him while on stand.
mrklean
another nice looking deer
archerystud
He's about 18 inches inside and I'll say a gross of 146. Go get him and let us know exactly what he is.The one I shot last year was 18 inches inside and the brow tines were longer than the G2's and G3's. They've all got different genes.
