I always pack granola bars, and cojack cheese. Plenty of water, and usually a sandwich or four. But while in Canada I have a box of granola bars with me all the time. They hit the spot and don't cause me to growl all day long! I eat cheese on a regular basis, so I never go far without it either. I usually have a few fruit snacks as well in my pockets.

On some of our longer stints on the water, we tend to throw in a singler burner stove, a pot, some fresh water, and then brats and bread. Nothing like a warm meal when you have been on the water for so long. Our longs stints sometimes even require firing up the stove twice.

A must have for me on long days on the water...

1. Sunflower seeds (something salty)

2. Granola Bars (something to tide you over between sandwiches)

3. Twizzlers (something sweet)

4. Sandwiches (something to fill the belly)

5. Water (something to keep yourself hydrated)

6. Grizzly (something to pass the time when fishing is really slow)

At least a couple of red bulls, for the instant energy. Otherwise it just depends. My mother still bakes cookies for the (boys) if she hears were planning on going fishing. Nothing beats those. Gotta love mothers. If I know it's going to be a full day, definately some sandwiches, or we'll do a shore lunch with some hotdogs over a campfire if permittable, The problem I have is I let the hunger really settle in before I take the time to eat. To busy fishing and that's not always good for a person.

Oh ya and a tin of cope. I'd have to go to shore if I forgot that one.

Last year on a MilleLacs trip, I packed a cooler with large sesame and onion buns, three kinds of sandwich meat, two kinds of cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, and horseradish, and let the guys make their own sandwiches. They agreed it was a great way to eat on the lake. They put on what they wanted. My #2 son built a sandwich that he couldn't get his mouth around---then made another.

I can feel my arteries slamming shut..............

I usually have a sandwich, diet soda, and for snacking I make my own trail mix. Used to be candy bars and chips but being a diabetic I gotta try to keep it healthy. Oh yeah if I really get hungry I can always eat the bug \:D

I try to avoid junk food... candy bars and caffeine really affect my long days on the water. So usually i have lots of water, maybe a couple pb and j's, some cheese or jerky for protein, and some fruit.

on trips we always pack venison sticks, apples (sunk in the cooler), and have tubes of lays chips (way better than pringles) and at least a gallon of water per guy. There is always beer and a bump bottle somewhere in the boat as well.....
