tigerbalm2424
I have know individuals who will never use one and always tie directly to lure/hook, people who always use one for ease of swapping baits, and people that use for certain situations.Just wondering when FM'rs use them......... st.crioxfishin
The only time I use them is for pre-fishing for a tournament so I can switch out lures quickly in attempting to figure out what lure the fish are keying in on. I only use them with crankbait style baits and spinnerbaits though. I sometime use them when just fishing for fun too.

NCLaker
I use just a cross-lock snaps (no swivel) from Berkley for crankbaits & spinner baits. I can switch lures much faster.Only time I use a swivel snap is for lindy rigging for walleye or bobber fishing.
YUM
I never find myself using them, for any species.

cjac
Night fishing walleyes when tying a knot is a beast of a chore and I'm switching out lures while looking for the crank with just the right wiggle or color I'll use a cross-lok, beyond that (bass especially) I prefer to direct tie. Bass Rebel
I always tie direct, but if my wife or daughter is along I will tie on a duolock for them because they like to cast and each lure only lasts for about 5 casts before they want to try something else. jermisch
I only use them on spinner baits and not all the time. Other species, I use the on spoons...otherwise direct tie.
Craig Plummer
I like using them on chatterbait and spinnerbaits
JP Z
Use them more on Crankbaits, generally walleye trolling where I will remove the split ring and use a crosslock. Spinnerbaits I don't, but when I use a leader (pikey areas) I generally have to slide some surgical tubing on the spinnerbait so I clip doesn't go sliding off. jwhjr
I usually use them on crankbaits and spinnerbaits.
Bassman55
I don't use them at all.
Daze Off
Often on cranks and spinnerbaits but not always. Trying to get away from it actually but it is a hard habit to break because it is so convenient.Lost a really good fish in the state tournament one year when it pulled the snap swivel straight and got off and have been much more careful since. I don't use them with braid.
Neighbor_guy
I personaly tie direct. But I do use them on a kids line or when there is someone else in the boat who may want to change all of the time and doesn't tie the best knots in the world. Central Bassman
It's just one more thing that could break off during a hook set or when I'm fighting a fish. I never use them!!!
