Deitz Dittrich
One of our memebers asked me to do this poll.. It sounded like fun.. Me personally I have a lowrance handheld and a Combo unit in my boat.
Xplorer
Well, I use a old handheld garmin 12XL for ice fishing. And for open water I have a Lowrance stand-alone 5300C GPS and a 510C locator. Now that I have the Navionics chip, I am eyeing up a color handheld for next icefishing season (can you say Xmas )
danwilliams
H2O for ice fishing...For open water I use a 510C sonar and a 4900M GPS..(the 7" screen and separate sonar screen is good for my 60 year old eyes.) Three Lowrance. ....after spending last 26 years in Tucson..electronics was biggest evolution I've seen in fishing after my self imposed exile.. I'm amazed every time I use them.... danwilliams
Deitz.. btw don't really have a category for my stand alone 4900 Lowrance... my H2O hand held is just for ice fishing or when not in my boat so I checked it...

Tom Linderholm
I have a 25 & a H20 for now. I think when its time to upgrade I may work my way into a Raymarine set up, with auto-pilot, radar, and such. For now I am more than happy though.
DancesWithWaves
My dad just picked up a lowrance gps sonar combo with the color screen. It is pretty sweet but for some reason it has a hard time pickin up satellites. It might just be a weak receiver in the unit but we do have one on our boat that works better. Any reason why this is? My Algoma fishing buddy just picked up the Raymarine. We will be trying it out this weekend. I think the model number is C70. It should be fun. I run the H2Oc year around, for now. Tom Linderholm
Fishin Fix, if you would be so kind to shoot a report in the Wisconsin forum that would be great. I am heading out there for the annual week on the 12th. Man I love Algoma, and Algoma loves my friends!
FishinFix
Cheffrey, I will be sure to do that. Another friend was out there last weekend on a charter, and landed 30 with mostly kings in the 10-15lbs range. Six guys on board.
Slyster
Wow.. Lowrance wins by a landslide! I wonder why. I like Garmin's software (both on the unit and PC) better and the color screens are much easier to see in bright sun. I use the 76CSX with Lakemaster MN maps. markkstanley
Does Joel Nelson count as a GPS unit? After getting a little guff from Dietz Lowrance Globalmap 3600c is now on the boat, H2Oc is for ice and also is on boat.

BobT
I use a Garmin Rino120 for all my hunting, fishing, traveling, and farming. It's nice to be able to carry my GPS and two-way radio in one unit rather than two. I use Garmin's Minnesota Lakemaster software, USTopo land contour, and US Roads and Recreation for highway mapping. The unit has plenty of memory (8M) for mapping details, has nice features, easy to operate, GPS accuracy is great and quite often to within 7 feet, and their service has proven second to none. On the flip side, I would prefer a larger screen such as on the Map76, I would also prefer color screen which is available in other Rino models.
