Spend fishing time with?

This is a rip off of the "Todays Fishing Media Personalities" thread. Name the one person and just one person that you would like to spend some fishing time in a boat with. I would like to spend some time with Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. He comes across as a very nice guy and I have no doubt if he was willing he would have more then enough stories to just make me sit there and listen. I can't imagine what he would have to say about stories behind the stories..

Good choice DTRO. Both of my G'Pas' for a "last trip" if they were still around would be ideal.

I did fish with David Walker of the Wheaties Box "Angler of the Year" in about 2000 and he was very, very cool. Lots of laughs and lots of hunting and fishing stories. Good guy. Taught me a lot too.

Pat MacManus would be a good guy to drown some minnows with smile.gif

I would have to say My DAD ,,he was a 1/3 owner of a 12 ft shallow sears aluminum boat so we didnt get to fish out of it all that much ,,shortly before I got my first boat he was already diagnosed and died 55 days after his grandaughter was born and about 3 months after I got the boat frown.gif so many things left unsaid

I hear ya! My mom died when I was 8. I have no idea if she would have liked to go fishing or not, but I have a hunch she would have still came along anyway.

I'd like to spend a day fishing Sag with the "Big Guy" Jesus. I bet we'd get on some fish, I could run all over the lake at wot and not worry about my lower unit, and I guess we could go over a couple of other issues that I'm concerned about. smirk.gif

I also would choose 2 people that would be my parents since I never got a chance to fish with them as an adult so many questions. Besides I'd like for my daughter to be with so she could meet her grandparents.

Would love to fish one more time with my mom....(if the weekend surgeries go well...we may get a chance)

Regarding those who'd want to fish with Jenna Jameson...reminds me of a punchline...as you pull into shore, and the buddies at the launch see you escort her from the boat, they call to you and say "did you catch anything"...you coyly reply: "I hope not!"

My Dad and my Mom. Dad passed away unexpectedly 19 months ago. Mom has no interest in fishing since then. Would love to spend just one more day with him. OK, that's a lie... I would love to have a lot more time than that with him. I always figured there is lots of time yet... wrong again! Hug your loved ones, you just never know. Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Now with the verse and all, I am curious how you would know about this particular personality? Just curious. I liked Halle Barry on the houseboat and she is on my list so my wife couldn't squack, course Alan Jackson or Mel Gibson could invite her out too, so then I'd be hosed! grin.gif

My grandpa. My inspiration and teacher of everything that made me a sportsman. When I was a little kid, grandpa had already retired. My bro and I used to spend two weeks with him in the summer and we'd fish every day on the Mississippi river out of Trempeleau area. Panfish and some casting for Northern/Bass. Gosh I never had a hot dog that tasted any better than the ones we used to roast on a sandbar over an open fire we'd made at lunch. They were the BEST of times.

My dad used to travel from Ky to MN and we would go to Canada for a week. Today he is pushing 90 and residing in a nursing home and when I visit he dosn't even know who I am. When I'm there he always asks me where I live and when I tell him Duluth he will say my son lives there and we used to go fishing togeather. One more time would be just fine with me.

    • Yeah it was a beatdown
    • Your kid needs to stay with him!👍
    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
