Keith_MN
I'm going to hit Mille Lacs Friday evening. I've never had the opportunity to try the late fall night bite under a big moon on the big pond. But the stars have alligned....nice weather.....nearly full moon.....a free weekend......etc..... I guess you could say I am a die-hard, too. A few years back I had a string of three years in a row that I fished out of a boat on the same central MN lake (ie Koronis) in mid-December. PS Wish me luck.
rosspj59
Keith, I'll be on mille lacs friday too. Good luck, there will probably be a lot of fish caught this weekend. Hopefully a few larger fish find my lure. Hoping for clear skies and lighter winds. After mille lacs gets to cold it will be time to hit the river hard till ice up on the lakes. Duffman
Of course the diehards are still fishing, that's why we're diehards. I'm hoping that the lakes should be somewhat empty this weekend, duck season is still going strong, and then you'll have the guys chasing communist ditch parrots. I'm thinking that I'll get out Friday after work, and then again on Saturday. I've still got a couple bass goals to reach yet this year, a special thanks to Mark Raveling for making one of my goals a tad tougher.

Bobby Bass
Made it out on a little lake north of Two Harbors, water tempdown to 53 nothing on topwater even though it was a glass calm afternoon. Went to spinner baits and slow rolled across the dead weed line 5 bass 2-2.5 #'s 4 northerns and a very hungry crappie! Next time out I think the sorrel boots will go on. Cooling down for sure but I ain't never caught a fish in my livin room!..

Maximum12
I'll be out tomorrow evening. Two years ago I was out when the bays were already frozen over, won't do that again! The wind shifted while we were out & piled broken ice at the access, busted the flywheel on my little 9.5 plowing through. Not smart!Caught one bass on topwaters last night & lost two others on jumps. Jitterbug. Mostly out deeper fishing northern.

chaffmj
Bobby Bass, Take several casts for me. Between work and coaching baseball and hockey I don't make it out much so I fish through the stories people like you write.Good LuckMike
smmurphy
I wish I could get out. It looks like the perfect w/e for it. I guess I used up my allotment of fishing days this spring and early summer. I was out at least 3 times a week from mid april until the end of july, and now I've been out exactly twice since August 1st. Between loosing a job, finding a new one, picking up the odd cash job to make ends meet, and coaching my son's football team my fishing time has been SEVERELY LIMITED. Dennis Steele
The River Pro never gets put away. Helps that there isn't much winterizing to do on a jet rig. Anyway why would a guy put the boat away when there is still soo much fishing to be done yet? We have been getting a few walleye every night on the river, some nice ones too. Seen a couple 10lbers and some getting close to that but the average is around 18". The bite only gets better from here on out. November and even into mid December the walleye and sauger are easy pickins. Tommorrow I am hanging with That Guy and hanson after some sturgeon. This will be a first for me. You could say I'm a "sturgeon virgin" The following weekend, Ebass invited to chase some smallies on the Missy. Then after that its up to the Rainy for some great walleye fishing. I'll even try to slip in another musky trip in there somewhere else. Then more MN River fishing, and when that freezes up tight, like said earlier, theres always Redwing! Put the boat away??? NO WAY! This is the best time of the year to fish if you ask me.
