A hefty Mille Lacs Pike. She measured 42" and had a girth of 15 1\2 inches. My biggest pike to date. By the way she had 2 tags in her. How do I go about sending the info to the DNR?

go to the dnr HSOforum they have a link to email all the info to. takes a few weeks then you get a letter in the mail. nice pike by the way -

I promise this was the only semi-calm bay! Maybe 3 footers was a slight exageration, but believe me, the main lake was rockin!

42" pike??.....The tape reads 38-39. Nice fish though. Have got myself a couple tagged fish this year. Pretty cool.

Apparently you didn't notice the part where the lower jaw extended past the ruler by a good couple inches.

seems like there is alot of tagged pike out there this year - we boated two both tagged this spring - were everyone elses tagged this spring? they must have tagged a ton of those things

tbags: I knew someone would catch that the ruler said 38" always an observant crowd on here but she rolled onto her belly when I grabbed the camera. When I rolled her back I didn't pay attention where she sat according to the ruler. I asure you though that it's 42". Thanks captain for noticing that. I didn't think I would ever catch a pike over the 40" mark here in MN, thumbs up to the DNR and the era of catch and release

mtreno- this is the third tagged pike I've caught this season. All where real nice 34,36,42.

Well an inch here or there, don't really matter. A great fish to be sure and even better she is still swimming to fight another day! Great catch and great pic!

Thanks Troy!!! Only 2 over 50, but lots in the 48-49 range!!! Caught that one doing the figure 8. It was a battle!!! My sister netted it!!! Fun times and it was about 20 degrees out.

First post on the board, hello everyone. I got a couple of pics of a few I caught this year. I didn't have the chance to measure or weigh any of them but each was fun to land. All were caught on the same lake this year here in the metro area...

I caught my first one a few weeks back there. Nothing big though. I tried it this morning and got nothing, but I am not just targeting muskies either, so I use smaller lures.

I caught this one tonight using a Giant Jackpot. This was between 45 and 46 inches. Hard to measure with a tape. Floppy thing! Really was green when I got it on shore. River fish that was caught in current less than two feet deep. Sand bottom.

This thing swiped at it twice on the same retrieve, and on the third pause I saw the boil and my plug just vanished. Yes! I set the hook and after a very short battle I slid it up on the bank and got a couple qick pics and a quick measurement it went back!

All of them were succesfully released, and that last one did get in the grass on me, I was fishing the shore/dock for all these fish. The last one was a little heavier so I took her over to the boat launch to land.

That is one muscular looking fish, probably from fighting the current all the time.

Were you using that same Penn, hydralic reel, with the pool cue rod and the waist harness? Maybe thats why it didn't fight much? You reminder when you showed me your Muskie outfit?

My buddy got his first Musky on Sunday in a Metro lake. He caught it on a Killer Eel at 9:30 am in about 3.5 FOW near a weedline.
