0 snowfighter
If you ever try a electric fillet knife and get use to it you would never go back to a regular one , my opinion
0 climbmda
Leech Lake Knives. I will never use another knife!
0 Aqua Eye
I have never used an electric so I cannot comment on those but I sure love my Fishermans Solution by Cutco. Lifetime warranty, handy built in features like an adjustable blade that goes from 6-9 inches, line cutter on the sheath, fillet skin holder, mini wet-stone, contoured handle etc. I think it was around $85.00 total. 0 fishingdad
I will second that on the leech lake knife I've had two of them for 10 years or so and I would never own a different one.
0 Mike89
I agree on the electric knife, they are awsome!! As for another knife, the leech lake knife is great. You do need both if you go with electric. The smartest thing is to go with quality!! And you don't need a long blade either. Mike
0 iffwalleyes
For electric you can't beat Rapala electric knifes they are nice and compact and very nice. For a regular knife I would go with the Leech Lake Knife. These are the 2 that I use all the time and have been very happy with both of them.
0 gunflint
Where can you get a Leech Lake knife?
0 Hookmaster
I got my Leech Lake knife at the Sportshow in Minneapolis. I get it sharpened there each year and it lasts all year. Do a search for Leech Lake knife and you'll find various sources. They are a great knife.
0 BD110
It can all be said in one word. (CORDLESS) I still find myself using a standard fillet knife at times. But once you get used to an electric knife you'll be one happy camper. Good luck in whatever you choose. Take care, Tom (BD110)
0 anyfishwilldo
I've always used the old cheap rapala 6" wood handled fillet knife. I am always on the lookout for a new knife that will hold an edge, but can never find a knife with a blade as flexible as the good'ole Rapala. 0 scruffy
never had a problem with the old school, simple rapala. there's a reason it's been around so long! that skandanavian steel can hold an edge. they do have a signature line that's a little more high-end than the standard knife. 0 doser
Lee,I use both traditional and electric. I love the electric for Walleyes and use traditional for panfish. I've never used a Leech lake knive, but I've heard nothing but good things about them.

0 The Grebe
An electric AND a standard fillet knife for a back up. I went electric a few years ago and it's great...cut my cleaning time in half once I got the hang of it. My only suggestion would be to go with a quality cordless unit. 0 Graywolf
Electric fillet knives are great. Just make sure you are going someplace where they can be plugged in or recharged (voice of experience, standing at Corp of Engineers' fish cleaning station with no outlet and very dumb look on face holding a large salmon). I am surprised no one has mentioned Forschner fillet knives. Not that expensive ($20-25), non slip handle or a Dexter-Russel fillet with the "rubber" handle. Both are available at resturant supply stores. Look at different sites and see what the charter boat deck hands use. They go through a lot more fish in one season than most of us do in a lifetime. No matter what you decide, keep it SHARP.

0 LABS4ME
My kitchen! Get a Chef's Choice 3 stage sharpener... best $90.00 I've ever spent. I could probably pay for it by charging buddies for sharpening their knives, as they are all addicted to the great edge this unit puts on their knives.... I can't even imagine not using sharp knives anymore.Good Luck!Ken
0 iffwalleyes
The leech lake knifes have way more flex than the Rapalas I have both.
