Sounds like Silly Town!

I did hear that Mr. Mcfeely went on to become President though!  :D

About 20 years ago, through a strange and mutual connection of sorts, I ended up bar hopping with Mr. McFeely's real life daughter in Los Angeles.  She was pretty cute.  Also had a husband with her.

She said Mr. Rogers was basically an uncle.  And that he was exactly the same on and off TV.

Anyone up top seeing any Northern lights they have been talking about the last few nights?

Chaffmj?

Haven’t looked and haven’t seen any FB group posts on them like normal.  Last winter/spring we tried to catch them but never saw a GOOD show.  But also the phones pick them up better than the actual eye does too so it’s hard to justify loosing sleep over.

Maybe soon on a lake somewhere?

I was up until about 230am looking and didn't see schitt.  Got up to red about 1030 last night.

The Aurora tracker thing that NOAA or whatever operates showed it didn't blow up as far south as predicted.  Looked like it blew up deep in Ontario though.

My sister lives in Texas and is a Northern lights freak so she Facebooked us to try and see them, nope.

She once did the Iceland or Greenland deal, only to have it cloudy for 3 days! 🥺

I used to take them for granted when up deer hunting by Walker when stepping out of the log cabin to take a [PoorWordUsage]s at 3am.  Oh cool! 😴

I have never seen anything more than a super faint green glow one night on mille lacs..  The aurora gods like to make them happen on weekdays when I'm in the south metro.

This winter is the year though.  The predicted northern lights is what made me take Friday off and head to red lake with the other 10,000 citiots.

Tomorrow will be the brained tourney on red for sure.

Fish don't seem to be super hot anywhere that I can see.  Lots of beer drinkers catching more rays than fish.  It's a gorgeous day.

We are still planning on going next weekend.  I’m more interested in the crappies too and they are coming back a bit.  At least enough that they can be found.  The group I’m going with are walleye peeps though…. Bummer….

Yeah, hard to catch this low.  After seeing them in the Arctic Circle I don’t ever expect anything as intense but I keep hoping.

Sorry for the late reply but I haven't seen any for a while and just got back home tonight from a trip. Also living were we do we just can't walk outside the house and see them; we have way too many trees.

  • Your Responses - Share & Have Fun :)

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
