It is supposed to be a thread where you post about what has, or will happen today. You can talk about anything. If you don't like it, don't read it. That's why I STARTED the thread....for everyone to chat and talk about anything concerning your day while you had yer coffee. An off-topic mini-chat room, to help keep the other threads focused on cooking "things". Yes, an ulterior motive. Kinda get everyone in a good mood for the day....and it worked. People enjoy it. Or so I thought. bobberineyes

People (yes, more than just me) are complaining that the nonsensical blathering leaves this thread and derails other threads. At that point the usefulness of that thread becomes compromised and diminished. Wash, rinse, repeat. Believe it or not, I'm trying to help you guys out and offer some guidance or a view from a Cooking Forum "outsider" perspective. Unfortunately some feel that instead of accepting the constructive criticism they'd rather attack and push more people away. Big Dave2
roony
That's a pantload. When you started your "First Smoker" thread it seemed to me that several people made some very instructive posts to help you get started. Later, it got a little off track but all the information you needed to start using the smoker was already there. Instead of coming off as appreciative you attacked those who had helped you. Coffee118
The good morning thread is one of the first things I read in the morning, then I'll look for the foods or recipes that people shared throughout the evening. It's a place to say good morning to your buddies, let them know what's going on in your life good or bad and to yank their chains first thing in the A.M. But I guess this isn't the place to be kind and cordial to people. I guess I should stop visiting this page because I still can't really eat solid food with my temp dentures and I won't get my perminate ones for a couple more so all this food everyone posts offends me personally and exposes my handicap of food so I want this page taken down Cooperman, RebelSS, bobberineyes and 1 other

I'm just a relative newbie and have no say so in anything but the people who do should remember this if it's put on the web page. Popular Post reinhard1
Wow, I'm glad I'm not a moderator anymore. Reb keeps this forum going along with others. Questions get answered here ALWAYS. We seem to all get along here and are sharing things plus we keep it on the light side and have some fun as well. All of the sudden we have all of these aledged complaints about things going off topic. The good morning thread is about being off topic. Sharing what we do and sometimes even personal things. If I'm the original poster and start a thread like Canadian Bacon, it got off topic of few times but the information is there for everyone to see. I do my best to give the best accurate information I can and I want feedback including if things are not exactly on topic. Why all of the sudden is it that a couple of guy's come on here and start ripping this forum? Where were you in the past? Your comments about being constructive is not how I see it. Nothing is broken here, and nothing needs fixing. This is the Cooking Forum not Silly town. It was fun to be on here and now this sudden negative garbage. Reb, keep doing the good job that you are doing and don't be disstracted. this does pizz me off. good luck. Popular Post RebelSS
Thanks guys. Thanks RH. I AM trying. So, in effect, OK..... lets try to stick to posting cooking topic THREADS on here, except in the Good morning chit chat thread. Rambling allowed on threads, to have some fun, without totally derailing things, with the intent of bringing it back to original subject to provide answers, info, and a bit of fun along the way. Does that sound reasonable to all? That's the best I can do....really.We can ALL have fun while we do this, and continue on. All other suggestion heartily invited. That's the very best I can do, guys. If that doesn't work, tough. Then don't visit here is all I can say. Too many good guys here to start ripping on. Doesn't work for me. reinhard1
Works for me Reb. I have been on a National smoking page for years. Even there things go off topic. Why? Because folks get to know each other and have a little fun but the information got through. I haven't seen at any time any questions that was asked that wasn't answered. I put my page on here just so folks can refer to it for even more details if something was missing. I'll post just like I did before and if something goes off topic I'm not going to complain about it. There are more important things in life than to get upset over something like going off topic. Back to yardwork. Or is that off topic. good luck. Edited May 1, 2016 by reinhard1 McGurk, Cooperman and LindellProStaf

Popular Post Livin the dream
Here's my .02. I'm not a big poster but I come to the cooking forum many, and I mean many times a day to see what's going on or cooking. I don't know anyone here personally, but i feel like I do. I've asked lots of questions and they've always been answered. Going off track to me is the fun part. There's a great group of guys here and I hope that don't change. Typically, based on my experience, if someone asks a question or has a topic, the question gets answered or the topic covered in the first day or so. Maybe a page or two of posts. So, at that point if you are offended by off topic blathering and digressions or whatever it was I called them the other day you can just skip that topic. Start another, they are free. Or post something on topic. Or just wade through the posts once or twice a day. If you really really want to find something you can use google to search these forums. It works better than the search on the page. like put venison sausage hotspotoutdoors.com in the search box. As my kids used to say "you're not the boss of me". Consider our off topic B&D a microaggression. RebelSS, Boar, LindellProStaf and 3 others
