Anyone get a new bow this year?

Recommended Posts

Anyone get a new bow this year and what did you get? I got my self a new 2013 bow tech carbon knight the other day. Been shooting my diamond almost 6 years and decided to upgrade. Love it so far so much smother and quiter than the old one. Only got a few dozen arrows through it so far, can't wait for September!

I got a PSE stinger 3g a couple weeks ago. Its last years model, I think they discontinued it. Bought it as a RTS package.

My first bow. I actually just shot a compound for the first time like a week before I bought it. Ive got a lot of experience with my dads ancient youth recurve as a kid though.

Not sure if I'm going to deer hunt with it or not. Never deer hunted before, even with a rifle.

I just got the bow cuz its fun to shoot, free to shoot, and there are multiple ranges within a ten minute drive. New hobby!

Of course I'm at the range the day it came in the mail. Wife came with, and now her ladies bow is in the mail. I got her a diamond infinite edge.

Bought a Diamond Carbon Cure. Basically a single cam Carbon Knight. Never shot a bow before the day I purchased this bow. I love this bow but don't have a lot to compare it to besides shooting a few of my friends bows. For now this bow is plenty good enough for me, but I do see myself upgrading in a couple years.

I got a PSE Evo new non-current 2012 model.

It was around $800 MSRP. I got it for $400.

I was with my kids shooting at a local shop this late winter and saw it was marked down to $650, so I inquired about it. I shot it, and fell in love with it. I asked what they could do on it, since it was already 2 years old, they should consider moving it off the shelf. smile

After going back and forth with them, they said $400 and I jumped on it. Free set up on it moving all my components from my old bow to it. $50 card included to shoot indoors.

I am ecstatic with the purchase.

I will use my 5 year old Mathews, shoots deer just fine. Had my Mathews Solo for close to 10 years and that could still be used today. New bows are nice, more user friendly and faster but I guess as long as my current bow kills, I will continue to shoot it. My son just sold his Drenalin and got a new Creed.

Not me. Until this year I was sponsored by Scheels as a staff shooter, but they shut down the program this year, so I don't get a good deal on a bow. I'll shoot my Bowtech Experience again- I've been happy with it, so why not?

Just ordered a Bowtech Experience. Shot a bunch of them including the 360 but that was a little too harsh for me with a 30" draw. I like the Hoyts too especially the Faktor. Shot some Bears and they are great bows too. Just coming from a Destroyer I decided to stick with bowtech for mostly the ease of yoke tuning. Had the Destroyer shooting bare shaft bullet holes so I expect the same from this one. I hope they get it in within the next couple days...

I bought a new bow this year. I got a new Mathews Chill R, I shot several bows, and it was between the Chill R, and the Hoyt Faktor, I actually liked how the Faktor shot better then the Mathews, but I got a better deal on the Chill R, so I went with the Chill R. So far I love it. I am shooting tight groups, well, most of the time.

No new bow for me this year. My staff shooter deal feel through this year, so I won't spend the money for the small upgrade for now. When I find a bow that's a significant upgrade to my Experience, I'll probably do it. Not this year though!

Next year I will be shooting either an Obsession Evolution or Phoenix, haven't decided yet. Figured I better shoot the bow I bought this year for one year at least.

I have a feeling I am going to be one of those guys that needs to buy a new bow every year.

I'm shooting the Creed XS this season, shoots great for being a small bow, perfect Thick woods whitetail killer. Creepworm have you looked at the expedition line of bows? Basically the same as the evolution and it's made not too far from you. We picked them up at out shop and they shoot nice!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
