Can't tell is that a white or black. State record white is 18" long. Nice fish

Looks like a white crappie. My personal best was a white crappie as well. But certainly not that big!

That white crappie is a beast. My personal best crappie is 18.5 inches but it was a black. Caught about 15 years ago on dumb luck when I was throwing rapalas as a kid off shore on good ole lake minnewaska my parents got it mounted for me for christmas.

someone has to do it: I harvest my fair share of fish but which sportsman would harvest an 18" crappie? That's not even state-record type stuff, that's worldly. Replica mounts are as good as the real thing if mounting is the reason.

Does somebody have to be the critical type? Some people prefer not to have a replica, myself included. To each his own, no need to rain on a parade. Does it make you a better person to have your opinion? Obviously you think it does but guess what, in reality it doesn't. That sow has most likely dried up anyways and wouldn't be alive much longer due to age. Toot your own horn a couple times for all the "better people" out there though.

Its a black crappie, ones that size resemble a white but the shape (to me) seems to not be "slender" like a white crappie. The more pronounced hump on the back sells it as a black.

Back to the crappie. HOLY COW that think is awesome! My best was 16" and I thought that thing was a freak. 18" would be unbelievable. Great catch of a life time!

If I were to catch this fish, I would have kept it as I can mount it myself and thats much less than a repilca.
