Locked Bucks video

Recommended Posts

that is really cool and why wouldn't you film it if you came upon that?

idk? just personal taste. It is really cool and I would have filmed the bucks locked, and dead... just not the shot I guess. It didn't seem neccessary. Doesn't matter. Not trying to judge or start an ethics debate.

I am with you on that too...it wouldn't be my ideal way of killing a big buck. I would have tried to freed it if possible and take the dead one with. If I had to make the shot, I would have not filmed it....the buck (that was shot) looked alive when they approached to the bucks.

I stumbled over another locked up bucks video on FB today through my news feed, wasn't sure where it was but it was in a corn stubble field and guy freed the one that was a live.

I would challenge anyone that says they would do different,,,,, if they were truly in a similar situation.

OK, some may not videotape the shot... thats fine.

Those that say they would try and free them.... Good luck if you have a hormone raged 200+ lb buck ready to do who knows what....

hockey has a pretty strong point. The buck in that second video, on the ice, didn't give up the fight, even after he was freed, with people all standing around talking and yelling, dogs nipping at his heels, and even after a rifle had shot off part of his one antler POINT BLANK right next to his face!

That guy had one thing on his mind, and one thing ONLY! "Hormone raged" isn't exaggerating at all.

And how dangerous was that shot? Taking off the antler of a live buck, standing on glare ice, holding the rifle with one hand, and people standing all around you, with the end of the barrel only inches or less from the hardened antler!!! crazy That could have easily ended with one, or several people dead, or minimally pulling shrapnel or antler fragments out of their flesh.

Not hating or judging...just sayin'. cool Cool vids!

Watching the iowa video makes me think twice about trying to unlock two bucks. Those two bird hunters had a pretty big pair to go out and try and free those bucks. Like to meet those boys, they were not youngsters either. Talk about worst case scenario, two live bucks, barking dogs, and on ice to boot. Then the buck tries for another go round after its freed. Crazy man.

Then you have not seen the video I watched where a guy freed the live buck. I would try to free a live buck and make sure it's videotaped if possible then show you if I am given that chance to do so. There was another video in the past that someone had cut the antler off and freed it.

still a cool find nonetheless.
