Yeah, I saw that vid on YouTube. Fun vid. If they have a large flat screen like Vex and 'Bird, and a digital readout like 'Bird, that'll be a huge part of the battle won right there.

If they don't have those things, I'm still not interested in switching to Marcum.

+1

I don't care much for the flat screen, but a digital depth readout would be nice. That's all I want.

Also, hopefully it will priced as the current LX-5, and no higher. Can't see them going above that price point much. And drop the LX-5 $100, in fact, do it to all the models, $50-100 drop would be nice.

Hmmm, cant wait for the specs on it! It would be awesome if you can mix Vexilars flat screen, HumminBirds digital display, with Marcums separation shocked

Yes, then that would surely leave the competition running to up their game too! In the end, the winner is us. Healthy competition leading to a better product. With all these advances in technology, you gotta keep pace!! And Marcum is starting to lose share to the Humminbirds!

One HSOforum lists the price at $700,

Good Lord. I hope that's not true. Regardless of brand, if the top units are going to retail for that price, I'll buy used units every single time.

Sheesh, talk about ridiculous, if it's for real.

It had better come with a GPS mapping screen and well, a hole lot more than just a flasher(sonar). I a guy can buy a very nice unit for thier boat for that price that has a whole more applications than a sonar only unit.

I hear comments about all the new technology in ice fishing sonars. I ask honestly, what is so new and amazing? I own a vex fl8, have fished with all others at one point in time or another, I can notice difference in seperation, crispness but really not a whole lot different in function.

I mean really where is this ground breaking tech? None of it yet is worth $400 more than your basic unit like the FL8 or lx 3(don't really like this unit though)IMHO.

STEALTH SONAR OPERATIONS REVEAL ASTOUNDING TECHNOLOGY

“You do of course know sir, that nothing quite like this has ever been done before,” remarked one high-ranking sonar lab-coat to another . . .

The culmination of decades of advanced sonar development, the minds at MarCum Technologies recently leaked word of an all-new, totally dynamic sonar system—the LX-7.

Alleged to provide the optimum blend of ‘Sonar DNA’ from MarCum LX Flasher and Digital Fish Finding technologies, LX-7 represents a sweeping fundamental advancement in ice fishing sonar. What we know for now is that the unit operates on a high-resolution digital LCD platform. Driven by a powerful sonar engine, LX-7 rapidly generates vivid underwater images using a virtual real-time display. Meanwhile, a multi-dimensional sonar viewer provides dynamic, user-defined views of fish, lures and structure, all in an expansive colorful environment.

We'll pass along further details as they become available, for now enjoy the video...

So multidimensional? Hopefully this means we can now get not just a side view of the water column, but a down view too in 3 dimensions, that would be awesome! then you can see not just by color of the flasher, but actual placement of where the fish are in relation to your hole in a downview picture.

But $700 is a bit steep. better start saving now. I'm glad I held off from upgrading from my vx-1! Guess I know what I want for Xmas now!

I stole this ... No idea if its valid.

"the LX-7 is going to have multi, flat screen capabilities. For instance, vertical representation like the Showdown for total water column on one screen, typical circle representation in another and zoom only range vertically in a third or something like that."

As far as the price, No matter the price, I will be willing to bet they sell out long before the season is over. Not everyone wants or can afford a corvette, but those that do shouldnt be deprived of them because some that live on his block think that the Chevette is all anyone really should need.

8000 watts...Uff-Da...Dat's a lot of power.

Does it come with it's own generator too?

wink

No kidding. Imagine how much interference it will put out to vex users! Its gonna be a Vex Hex on them! I believe hbird is on a different frequency, unless the lx7 will operate there too.

  • Your Responses - Share & Have Fun :)

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
