ITS OFFICIAL= SEASON IS OVER

That non-catch last night was priceless. The ball actually hit him in the wrist. I think the whole grabbing-the-knee-thing-to-make-it-seem-like-it-really-really-really-hurt-thing was just his decoy for making a TERRIBLE play on that ball. I believe 99.9% of every single outfielder in MLB would make that play every time.

It (the season) hit rock bottom last night. Where's Terry Ryan when we need him. Where's our MVP's when we need them, they both realize they can't homer at home and Mauer seems disinterested, 0 passion, 0 fire. Please Billy Smith grant Pavano a trade so he can go play somewhere else. I bet he's steaming inside that he came back to this mess. Think maybe he has but Gardy better light a fire in some of these untouchable studs we got, we have 0 pulse. Happiest players in MLB this year..... Matt Guerrier, Jesse Crain, Wilson Ramos, Nick Punto, and anyone soaking up checks while on the DL. Some of these guys should be in there prime and we've got a 2nd season Target Field hangover. They need me to make a run for some Puerto Rican full proof HGH that can't be found under the current MLB testing procedures or what ?

They stink there done...close the books. Gardy is a pansy and there is no leadership and worse than that these over priced pukes can't suck it up and play......the only way to fix this is to stop going to the games...when the attendance drops managment will notice if they continue to almost sell out every game why would they need to make any changes. Are fans need to throw out some boo's and cat calls from the stands that's the only way to get Gardy to listen.

1 thing is for sure I didn't think we'd be out of it before the 4th of July. Mauer is not a leader, has never had to be. When he was a 7th grader he was playing with sophomores, in 8th juniors, and in 9th grade seniors etc. He's a lead by example type. How many more years is he going to inside out the ball to left and take the first pitch ? Get some attitude up there Joe, pull the inside pitch, middle on the middle pitch, and outside take it to left, now he's untouchable with 184 to boot. Now we're ready to experiment with him in the infield, I thought we gave him big money as he was a rare find at catcher, how many years will that take for him to solidify a spot, he's caught his entire life. 23 million a year, hitting .206 with 4 runs scored and 6 rbi, no jacks of course, I know he needs more at bats well I've seen plenty of guys come off the DL and light it up immediately for the league minimum salary or beyond, who are the morons voting for him to be in the all-star game? He should have 0 votes this season, all star name, double AA numbers. Is our record in the last 20 playoff games 2-18 ? So in a sense oh well. I better stand up, I feel some bi-lateral leg weakness coming on.

I was at the game last night frown and there were plenty of boos and cat calls and all were well deserved. Not one player last night looked to me like he had any pride in his game. The most sloppy play I've ever seen on the field.

Since that first inning a week ago when they scored 8 runs, they've only scored 8 runs since, that's not enough to beat anybody. It was a nice little run they were on, but I'm afraid it's over.

BTW, we invoked the 10 run rule and left in the 6th inning.

Please Gardy read this, you only get 27 outs in a baseball game. Why are we or so it seems bunting in the first innings so much ? Don't give away outs that early in the game, lets push for a big inning early because our bullpen is awful, you know it gardy, we need mega runs to win these games. Gardy you may want to hand back that manager of the year award or cut it in half anyway, oh I know lots of guys on the DL etc. Then fire the hitting coach and strength and conditioning coach and the 3rd base coach. Get in Mauer's face, do it now, he's been babied along his whole life, Cretin D.H., played QB, 1st pick in draft, every ouchy turns into an extra week of rest, he had 1 sport wrong on his resume. Football fine but he never got hit, Baseball fine no one plowed Joe, He needed to play hockey to learn some toughness, why do the Molina brothers stay in MLB=Toughness, smarts, strength to handle the season, etc. Honestly, without the 184 million, .206 4 runs scored, 6 RBI no emotion, back to triple AAA until you can rake there again.

We were at the bar a week ago saturday, and Casilla comes up. Noone on, noone out. Gardy tries to get him to bunt. WHY? Dudes hitting finally- let him swing away!! Gardys clueless sometimes, I swear.

Wow. A week ago everyone on here couldn't wait to shake Gardy's hand and herald this team as the new Yankees, and now a few losses pile up and everyone bails again? That's the ebb and flow of baseball. A lot of fair weather fans here... Season over? That's just plain ridiculous to assume with no one wanting to definitively take over the division and 84 games left on the roster, with 49 of those at home. Last night was an ugly win, but a win nonetheless, and everyone else in our division lost. Back to 9.0 games out, 4th place, and nipping at Chicago's heals. Is that great? Of course not, but I'm not jumping ship now, haven't in other ugly years, and will be a proud fan when we start piling up Division Championships again. And no, I am not ruling out this year as a possibility for taking the division. Go ahead and insert "drinking the kool-aid" or "I'll have what you're smoking" joke here ____________.

1+ pikestabber!!! I'll be a fan win or lose. I'm not going to stop watching or going to the games just because they lost a few in a row. Hell, I was a fan back in the 80's when they REALLY sucked! Get off the band wagon whenever you want, but don't be too upset when there's no room left when you want to get back on, be it next week or next year, cause I'll be on there already.

Lots of BB left to rule the Twinkies out... They do need to get some guys back to health though. They most defin need to take advatage of some upcoming games! Opportunities are still there to make up room. All Star Break is ending up to be a even better thing for the Twins! I for one am still looking forward to October! Hopefully we will see you there!

Never have got off the wagon,

Jarrid

they will need to play at a .610 winning % rest of year for them to reach 85 wins. phillies only team currently with a higher win % than .610. central seems weak as usual but who knows if 85 wins is enough.

not impossible, but will be awful tough given how they've played so far this year. morneau won't be back for long time and doubt he will add much if he comes back. delmon out couple weeks but no reason to anticipate him being back. starting pitching is going to have to carry this team for there to be any chance.

Baker pitched a gem today. too bad bullpen has lost so many leads of his and that he wasn't allowed to pitch deeper into games. he's really the guy that needs to be our rep on all star team. gardy could make it happen if he wasn't so darn determined to get cuddy there.

Morneau being out isn't going to hurt this team...look at his stats leading up to todays game...it may actually help that he's on the bench for awhile. I think he's done...the concussion did more damage to his physche than it did to his brain.

Delmon out = good.

Let the young guys play...they're fun to watch and actually bring some "fire" to this team.

Gotta love Revere!

I honestly don't see him leading off an inning with a bunt on his own- especially the way he had been hitting. Thats a Gardy call, he is good at that.

No offense Z and Sled but I'm embarrassed you two would actual believe Gardy told Cassilla to bunt in that situation. Good Grief!

It's pretty unlikely we'll make the playoffs from where we sit. I'm thinking 3rd actually but knowing how me play the game along with the best manager in baseball by far anything could happen!

Go Twins and I'll pass on the 12 ounce tap beer in Walker thatoneguy....you risk taker you...

Danny V has some pretty nice clutch numbers. Cough, cough

He does?

227. with runners on.

.235 with runners in scoring position.

and a whopping .179 with the bases loaded.

I'm not giving up on him but he's far from clutch my friend!
