It isn't always about fishing

My neighbor, Gordy, shipped out with his Guard unit for a year or more in Afghanistan. On May 12, his wife was induced so that Grayce would be born before he left.

Grayce died on Saturday while her Gordy was helping keep the world safe and allow guys like me and you to fish, hunt and generally do whatever we want.

Grayce was buried today. Right now there's not much I can say to Gordy and his Tammy to make them feel better.

I do know that there's plenty of FMers who can put out positive prayers and thoughts to help them get through this time.

For the complainers, maybe Rick will start another forum for FM family notes like this so that you don't have to read them.

There are no words to give for a loss of a child..........Only prayers for Grayce's soul and prayers to her family for strength during these challenging and difficult times....

So tradgic to loose a child...........

This is sad, but also a case where I can feel comfortable in saying the child is in a better place!!

My heart felt sympathies!

On a related note, my sister in law is due in September. Her husband is in Iraq and most likely will not be home for the birth!

That is one of the sadest things I have read. I couldn't imagine being in Gordy's shoes. Having to leave his wife and family behind in such a tough situation. His sacrifice is much appriciated and he and his family will be in our prayers.

Nothing that can be said will make the hurt and sorrow disappear in the loss of a child. Try and take comfort in the fact there are people that have never met your family that care and pray for you and yours.
May God bless your Grayce

I'm fortunate enough to work at a Christian based company where we have devotions & prayer time every Monday morning. Most Mondays we pray for the soldiers involved in the mess in the Middle East & we're thinking of the friends & relatives that some of us have in Iraq or Afghanistan or wherever. I guess now we just know a little bit more about one of the other soldiers we've been praying for. Please pass the info on to Gordy & Tammy & know that they will more specifically be in my prayers.

I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers. My daughter is 11 weeks, it's been the scariest three months ever. I couldn't imagine losing her. I hope we all keep things in perspective.
God Bless

The worst thing a parent would have to go through is to watch a child of thiersd pass.

Rick ya beet me to the punch but I'd a just not been as polite.

Better yet if ya want to complain I'd give them my e-wife's e-mail cause I know she would fit right in w/them.
