Steve Foss
Hes "pro staff" on a Minnesota HSOforum. yet hates Minnesota. Really? First I've heard he hates Minnesota. A person can see the Vikings franchise clearly for what it has and has not been since its inception without hating Minnesota. I've never known LMIT to preach hate of this state. Maybe you wanna find another way to describe things, J-Jo. Methinks I hear the siren of the WAAAAAAAAAAmbulance approaching.
chasineyes
Blame this on Pawlenty as well. I guess the state IS collapsing under his watch! Saracastic of course.
LMITOUT
Wait, let me check.....yep, this is a football forum....not a Vikings forum. Whew.

Stcloudangler
I have heard a rumor that the dome was deflated some in advance of the upcoming storm... does that make any sense? Wouldnt you want that roof to be overflated if possible to create a more convex shape?I dont know how it is more clear that the Vikes need a new place to play. The only thing is it can't be in the shtty cities, they need to put it out in a suburb so you can get rid of all the snow when the cheapskates dont want a retractable roof. SFC
Lmit and Foss are not the same person. The avatar that Lmit is using is a picture of him that Voss took while out fishing, see the antique chisel lmit has at the bottom of the picture. Anyone want 2 free tickets to the vikes-giants game in Detroit. Iam getting a refund for my tickets , can also use the tickets in Detroit, all u have to do is pay to get to the game. Burnham
limit- it IS a football forum, but the thread is referring to the metrodome, and therefore the vikings. common sense would lead one to believe that those interested, or followers of the team would be the ones browsing this thread. complaining and bashing the state and the sports teams benefits no one, unless you find joy in making people on here irritated. i will be the first to say im not a "die-hard" vikes fan, theres more important things to me. i guess i just dont see your logic in trying to degrade and downplay every aspect of MN, unless you are solely trying to get negative responses from others on this forum. LMITOUT
So what you're saying is that if someone is not a Vikings fan they have no right to comment on a public sports issue? Doesn't seem to stop Vikings fans commenting on Bears, Packers, or Lions threads now does it? Back to your rock.
Farley
I think Ziggy was up there slashing holes before the storm.

FISHINGURU
The roof has collapsed 4 times now, either fix it right or rip it off and play like a man. Domes suck, who wants to sit in a giant bubble and watch games. On another note, wouldn't they just have to turn the heat up a bit in the dome to keep the snow from piling up so much? The way heat rises you'd have to think it stays nice and warm up there.
Scott K
I would much rather watch a game in 70 degrees, then to have to sit through yesterdays weather.

solbes
17 inches of snow or the equivalent volume of water weighs the same. But there's not a whole lot you could do about any of it, except what they were already doing (...in a full-on blizzard no less). At least they pulled the crews off in time.I'd love to watch them play at The Bank to close out the year. At least on TV.
Nick Kuhn
On another note, wouldn't they just have to turn the heat up a bit in the dome to keep the snow from piling up so much? The way heat rises you'd have to think it stays nice and warm up there. They pumped hot air into the teflon, it simply couldn't melt it fast enough. And law of conservation of mass states the water weighs the same as the snow. It's just easier for the water to flow off.
CAMAN
yeah so the snow can melt, turn to water and weigh even more....would you rather have light fluffy snow to move, or wet heavy snow? Sorry, but snow doesn't gain weight after it melts, it weights the same frozen as it does melted. It flows away a heck of alot faster when it is in a liquid state though. The guys removing the snow from the roof that night were actually spraying it down with hot water to melt the snow when they got called down for safety reasons. Im sure that had alot to do with the collapse.
pegleg
Solbes, they won't play at TCF - can't sell alcohol in the stadium so lost revenue, especially for the luxury boxes. Also about 12,000 less seats available at TCF so more lost revenue.

I would rather move light fluffy snow, but if I were the dome I'd rather have snow land on me and melt.

JBMasterAngler
I'm pretty sure if a home team is unable to play in their stadium (as will probably be the case for the bears game), they are reimbursed in some way by the NFL. And I believe the alcohol ban is only in effect for college events, as I'm sure they served beer at the U2 concert.
