What time of day did you shoot your deer ?

Recommended Posts

Wondering what time of day most of you shot your deer. Got mine at 2:30 PM Saturday. Getting old and can't stand the cold in the mornings so I hunt late morning and afternoons. Can't complain this week as the temps have been around 35 - 40 degrees in the morning.

well i was thinking about this very thing on stand and i came up with these historical numbers:

60% of my bucks are shot before 10 am

20% of my bucks are shot between 10 am and 3 pm

20% of my bucks are shot after 3 pm.

In addition, the biggest bucks were all taken before 10 am.

Saturday i had deer visit my stand at sunrise, 30 minutes after sunrise, 9am, 10am, 1pm, and several again at sunset....after dark the area came alive!

Sunday...had too much fun saturday night grin

Kicked up a bedded doe at 1pm, and saw a spike and fawn at dusk.

Monday morning...not even a squirrel.

Only shot them with my camera...Haven't tagged a deer yet. Save some antlers for me smile

My buddy shot his big 12pt at about 8:30 Sunday morning after sleeping in and getting out on his way to his stand late.... go figure. I shot my 4 point monster at 11:45 Monday. I did see three doe sat morning just as it was getting light at 7:30 (before clocks changed) and they hung out for a good 30 min not spooked even though they followed my exact trail and then chilled out directly down wind. that was cool.
