Ducks here on pool 8 and areas around here. Had good morning shoots saturday and sunday morning, with 14 saturday and 12 sunday. Headed out again in the AM, snow/rain and wind predicted, should be good!

Hunted sunday and monday 8 miles south of Alberta and also scouted are 15 miles west of there. Managed 1 mallard and 4 teal for both days. Not hardly any birds were flying. There were a few bigger bodies of water holding some birds, but again, nothing was flying. Did manage to have 2 flocks of mallards fly over decoys and give a look. This morning there were more canadian geese flying in the the area. Also saw 2 flocks of blue geese containing snows. This area probably won't get hot until after freeze.

Skim ice. Confirmed my guess that there are no birds in Carlos Avery. Went to pool 8 this morning and did not see one duck ! Heard 2 deer shots . No waterfowl shots. No wings heard in the dark !! Ruined. Wrapped it and tried to salvage morning at another big lake. Saw a few flocks of geese far off. One flock of mallards but would not come near. Nothing else seen but 2 grebes. Sounds like there are pockets of birds around but all mine are empty !

The birds are here boys. Hunted a loafing spot sunday evning over 8 decoys and limited on mallards with a bonus gadwall. Witnessed several good size flocks of mallards migrating south into the heavy south wind. Got my 4th greenhead with about 15 minutes left of shooting time and watched as mutiple flocks came into the spread. Very call responsive birds. Had a greenhead land in the decoys while I was out in the water picking up my last bird and he dident pay any attention to me, just started swiming around and feeding. This is the best season iv ever had for honkers and ducks, and its only going to get better from here.

went out yesterday same lake a 10th of the birds still managed 12 and add to that 4 Wanton wastes could tell they were day old birds a little more leary of finishing off. Still a great day out in the boat for being public water

Limited out this morning on a solo hunt out West. Plenty of mallards in the area and GWT. Fun hunt and the birds worked well and had all shots with feet down and cupped up in the decoys. Passed on many divers (ringbills, cans and buffs) Geese were moving in big flocks too. Ice starting to form on some of the small pole holes. Tomorrow should be good too. I felt like I was hunting in ND. wink

Full Moon and NW winds are usually an exciting combo this time of year. I'll be out on Lac tomorrow. It was too windy for a count but I'm hearing good things. There were reports of a big number of snow geese on Marsh lake earlier in the week.

Just got back from my first nodak trip of the year, LOTS of juvie snows, this spring should be another blood bath. 4 days of hunting we shot 246 snows, wich one the days we only shot 24, 16 lesser canadas, 1 greater, and with the mallards the thickest i have seen limits came quick. Met some of nodaks finest and shared a hunt with a father and 2 sons which in turn lead to dinner and bird cleaning at there house and hopefully some life long friends!

Went out west again to the same spot and maybe about 50 or so ducks on the water. It was night and day difference. It was very slow. Did manage to get a nice drake mallard though. Passed on two solo hen mallards that landed 10 yds from me. Scouted around and found a whole wad of ducks. Hunted them in the mid morning and filled out on 5 GWT. Fun hunt. Most mallards and teal I've seen so far this year in one spot--would guess close to 500--fun to watch. Also found 3 large rafts (150-200) of ringbills. Geese were on the move as well.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
