1-0 lead and no hitters intact and Sloweys losing his gas, YES- pull him.

4-0 lead and no hitters still in tact- YOU PUT HIM BACK OUT THERE. He gives up a hit, THEN you pull him.

Save their arm, pitch counts. Save that excuse guy- We have had just as many Tommy John surgeries with our pitchers as anyone else has in the past few years- Nathan, Liriano, Neshek. And 2 out of 3 of those guys are relievers!!

Most important thing...................... WINNING. If you think you know better than Gardy why are you here complaining and not in the dugout coaching..........

As long as we're flipping insults in here you guys are the flipping "POOR word USAGE"

Gee, I wonder why he took out Slowey who has a bad arm has had quartizone shot 2 weeks ago and was struggling mightily in the last inning out.

To think of the crying babys at home who all wanted to see a NOO NOOO GA ga and were disappointed.

To freaking bad guys!

I have to agree with Gardy 100%. Slowey was hurt and over 100 pitches in pitch count. Yes maybe a no hitter and also a new injury and that would hurt big time for a division championship.

If we are going to make a run at the division, we need healthy pitchers.

Also, his pitches were getting a bit high in the zone.

No brainer to pull him.

Gardy was looking at the big picture.

You act like my sitting at home is a choice.

"if you can do better, why aren't you the manager?"

Umm, I have never been offered the chance to be the manager of a big league ball club, and as far as decisions go, I can make better ones than Gardenhire has.

As far as Sloweys arm- ASK him if he is ok, and tell him, and make it crystal clear to him- that in no way is he obligated to go back out if his arm is bugging him.

If he was "hurt," they wouldn't have given him the start, let alone allow him to throw 100 pitches. The way they baby pitchers these days is ridiculous.

Its not that he was hurt but he was coming back from an injury. I know of no coach in the major league worth his salt that would have taken that type of a chance coming back from a n injury.

He was still not on the injury list but coming back out of it.

Armchair coaching is so easy that we all can be great at it.

Man, there are alot of second guessers here.

C'mon Harvey.... you can second guess with the best of us.... If Slowey wanted the chance, he should have gotten it. If they were worried about his arm, they should have pulled him at 75-80 pitches.... if they were worried about the win, why did they bring Rauch in..... I'm glad they got the win and I am glad that Slowey handled it like a pro... but we can't annoint Gardy almighty and say he is always right.... there'd be a lot less traffic on the site grin

Ok talk about winning the game? Tattoo neck guy was put in, we could of lost the game with him in for 1/3 inning, leave the guy in who dominated the game plain and simple

And Slowey was disappointed that he was taken out according to ESPN

Zamboni you are 100% correct when a player (Slowey) is in a possible cooperstown game YOU DO NOT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM HIM! Gardy might have to answer alot of questions on this one not to mention the 40 plus thousand fans rooting him on if he enters the 8th and gives up a run you gave him the chance now we will never know, and tho say we need him for the rest of the season is B.S. if that is the case there wouldnt be any no-hitters thrown then again Zamboni I coached alot of baseball in my life and you never take away a possible chance of a life time game.

"Umm, I have never been offered the chance to be the manager of a big league ball club,"

Thank God. We'd have a losing team, but all the internet coaches would be happy.

Actually, I am a pretty decent baseball minded person, and I don't think I would do too bad. In 2001 I coached the 5th and 6th grade baseball team in Little Canada and it was a non-paying gig, I was a 26 year old single guy and my roomate and I did it because we love the game and helping kids. Neither of us had kids at the time, I do now, but wasn't even related to any of our players. There isn't many single, 26 year old guys out there that would sacrifice 2 nights a week in the summertime to coach a bunch of kids, none of which are his own sons.

Everyone thinks they could do much better than Gardenhire!

Pretty funny actually...look at how well the Twins have done in the recent past with him as skipper. Like mentioned in the other thread, Slowey is lucky that he is even still in the rotation after his terrible pitching streak.

Not to get too insulting here, but how does coaching a bunch of kids for one year qualify anyone for a major league gig? Coaching kids is realtively stress free. You may have a parent or two that show up for the games, but few real critics and no press. I'd give you a one year contract with the stipulation that you are required to read this baseball forum every day and see what it's like to be criticized every day for every move.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
