LMITOUT
Favre continued that if he does have ankle surgery, it will be a minor operation."I don't believe major surgery on the ankle would be required for me to return in 2010," Favre wrote. "I've consulted with Dr. Andrews on the phone, and a relatively minor procedure could be done to improve the dexterity of the ankle, and to relieve the pain. I've put up with pain worse than this in my career, and I didn't want anyone to assume that the possibility of surgery was the sole factor that would determine whether I return or not. Some people reacting to the ESPN story have made this assumption.
zamboni
He should get it done before camp, and give himself a great excuse not to have to go to Kato
mrklean
farve does what he wants, he has the chilly eating out of his hand if he doesnt want to go to camp he wont and he will tell chilly that do, i dont see chilly saying well we dont want you as our QB then
zamboni
I don't mind him not wanting to go to OTAs and Kato- but man up and just announce now you will play, as long as you don't have to go to camp. He certainly does not need them and I personally want him back. But don't drag this out like last year
greebs
make up your mind brett and go with it. you didn't see montana, elway, etc. pulling this stuff every year. if he doesn't want to go to camp, maybe they can tell the whole offense to take off the camp and preseason as well. heck let the defense have the preseason off too while we are at it. Fish Head
He'll be here just about the same time as last year. He'll play the last 2 pre-season games and life will be good.

pinkfloyd4ever
yup, he had no recent headlines so needed to get his name out there. His talking about his ankle, IMO, is proof that he will be back. At least now its his ankle and don't have to hear about his thumb. Hey, I was not a fan, but I did learn to respect the guy but this offseason stuff is ridiculous. Just come out and say you will show up for preseason game 2 and don't want to do training camp, blah blah blah, rather than drag it out. SFC
I agree make a decision! He will probably have to have surgery weather he comes back or not. Drama VikeQueen, but at least he is ours.
FISHINGURU
Who really cares when he makes his decision? Either way he won't be in camp for the first few weeks. Junkson should be ready if Favre says no, he's only been trying to be the starter for a handful of years now.

Scott M
National media is running with it. ESPN Insider was talking about the Vikings trading for Bulger as a backup plan, because Shooter Walters suggested it...they might want to investigate that source a little closer.... bucketmouth64
I thought Bulger was released so wouldn't that make him a free agent? I also read today in the PP vikes signed undrafted player Perriloux from Jacksonille State. He was with LSU until academic problems and team rule violations got him off the team. Has the physical size and big time arm. So he could be a project as long as he stays out of trouble. He could learn under Favre.
zepman
That's good news on Perrilioux...at least he'll get an extended look now.Shouldn't be a suprise though...his agent is Bus Cook. One of our back-up quarterbacks needs to go. Sage, if he's going to just hold a clip-board, should be moved for added depth to the o-line.Keep either Archer or Perrilioux as the #3. SkunkedAgain
I've been to Kiln, MS. The folks around there wouldn't be the kind that I would trust for Favre news. It's back-country Mississippi even though it's just off the highway. I wouldn't trust news out of there, but I wouldn't hesitate to hit them up for crawdads cooked up creole style or some moonshine. Shack
I think it is hype myself and who would "not" be looking to hope aboard the Favre Love Train and bask in the moon light for a week or so. Quote: “I’m 100 percent positive I’ll never put on pads again in my life.”By Trent Hunter Published: 05/04/2010Posted in: Minnesota Vikings, NewsTags: brett favre In Peter King’s weekly MMQB column on SI.com, there’s an interesting tidbit on the third page. Reportedly, an NFL player very close to Favre spoke with the Lord this offseason and was graced with these words: ”I’m 100 percent positive I’ll never put on pads again in my life.” Whether we believe this or not is irrelevant. If Favre is having doubts about coming back next season after the success he had, there has to be some serious quivering over at Winter Park in Eden Prairie, MN. Beyond Favre, the Vikings are currently carrying RJ Archer, Tavaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, and Ryan Perriloux on their roster. Not a very inviting situation for Sidney Rice and co. Regardless, this is clearly not the end of this story. We’ll be hearing about Lord Favre probably until the trade deadline. Unless of course we don’t. Favre:“I’m 100 percent positive I’ll never put on pads again in my life.” Josh from 93x morning show: "Thanks to menopause, my mother says the same thing".
