well he said he wanted to go to a team with legit Superbowl shots, so that limits the options. He also said the Saint's backfield "looks set"

i was hoping the Lions might take a crack at him, but guess that's a pipe dream

Sounds like LT and Westbrook will both be available.

Chester is an unrestricted free agent so he'll be shopping himself around.

I like the skills and health of Chester above the other 2. But one thing to consider is the fact that the Vikings can not sign an unrestricted free agent other then there own unless they first lose a player through free agency to another team. This means if the Vikings keep Taylor we can't sign another free agent unless we lose someone else (not sure who else is an free agent this year).

The catch is since LT and Westbrook were cut they don't qualify as free agents in this deal.

So if we go with LT to replace Chester we'd also give ourselves the ability to go after another top tier free agent after losing chester. It might be a little drop off at back up RB but we'd probably be able to make a significant upgrade in a starting position else where.

I believe Westbrook has more in the tank than LT, but then there is the injury probs with BW. My preference is also to stick with Chester, but in reality he deserves another shot at being starter somewhere else.

  • we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators

We won't get Chester back. He will command more than the Vikes will pay, which will be more than AP makes now. Too many issues to do that. We will need to sign either Westbrook or LT.

Ziggy isn't afraid to spend a little money, so I'd say stick with taylor and forget all about LT. He's gonna go to the raiders anyway, that's the only team that will be willing to spend the money he wants. If we do lose taylor, stick with albert young as our backup. He has potential.

Arn't they all about the same age? Thrity to thrity one? LT and BW will go to teams that are contenters. Wasn't Taylors salary arond 3mil last season. I bet LT or BW sign with a team for that, or less as back ups, split duty backs. Not features.

If LT were to replace Taylor, even to upgrade at that postion.

BW on turf will last one game. Draft has got a few good backs in the mid rounds as well. Let one learn from two future HOF's.

Sign both chester and LT and run the wishbone. But make him wear #27

That way he can run behind AP and pick up those fumbles.

Could even design a fumblerooski play. grin

Would also need to sign Vick to spell TJ

I though AP was already brushing up on that play a few times this year,he shoulda told someone else on the team though frown

I'd take LT in a heartbeat if he signed for cheap, I'm sure he's lookin for a starting role though even though he's not the same player as he used to be, he's actually been goin downhill for a few years. He'd play Chesters role awesome the way he can catch out of the backfield, one of the best in the league.
