I think you'll just blow it up. Just run high octane gas, try switching to amsoil at 100/1 and take your auger to SM in big lake to have it tuned up. If you try the nitro and you can even get it to run please post as i would love to see, hear, or just even read about how it works out.

Lots of years ago, a bunch of guys on the Sodak border used to race their snowmobiles at night from one small town to the next. Two brothers were known for having hot sleds. One of them mixed one pint of the nitromethane into the five gallon can of gas they were going to use. Not knowing this, the other one mixed in two pints. A couple of miles out of town the machine said 'no'. There were engine parts spread out in the ditch the next morning. I'll take the extra few seconds it takes to drill a hole if my auger stays in one piece.

Nitro? Why?

If you want a hot auger motor, read up on how to modify a two stroke engine to make more power. You basically have to allow it to get more air/fuel, and to make power at a higher RPM. Switching fuel will just break the motor if you don't know what you are doing.

im doing some research, my buddy races gocarts and uses/used nitro b4 so im getting ideas from him but he uses a briggs 4 stroke and not a 2 stroke. im sure ive heard of people using it in comps b4, ie whos auger can cut threw the ice first. also i thought i saw something on that here lastyear not sure though

nitro engines need to be very hot to operate, and they melt the spark plug during the process, and the nitro engine auto-ignights the fuel because the cylinder chamber is so hot.top fuel engines actualy need to run out of fuel to turn off the engine because they dont use the spark plugs to ignight the fuel after the first second of the run (simular to A diesel engine)

A better way to add power to the engine would be to use nitrous oxide (cool whip cans presurized with nitrous oxide and you can buy cartriges of nitrous oxide for fancy homemade cool whip kits that are sold at head shops they look like bb gun co2 cartriges but have Nitrous inside them, people fill baloons to get high of laughing gas( nitrous) 30 bucks will get you 20 cartriges and eack one will last a few seconds

feed the engine the nitrous through a small aquarium air line tube into the air intake and turn the carb screws up to richen the gasoline/oil mixture , when the engine is running full throttle with the nitrous on the mixture will lean out and burn al the extra fuel because nitrous turns huge amounts of cold air inside the cumbustion chamber.Google HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE NITROUS INJECTION.

Id stay away from the niro methane because it has been used to make bombs, and other illegal drugs, and might get your name on a no fly list. (just kidding).

The rc mixed nitro stuff is mostly methanol or ethanol and wont burn in cold weather.

Be carefull and research (google) thers alot of funny videos of crazey homemade suff on the web, my favorite is a moped with a cool whip can for nitrous injection dooing "hotlaps" you can hear the moped engine instantley rev up and go 10mph faster.

Try a new NGK premium or platinum plug (cross reference it with the factory plug), add 1 ounces of "Marine Blue StaBil" mixed into 1 gallon premium gas with 1 bottle of 40/1 StrikeMaster oil.

Have you noticed a difference with the "better" plug? Seems like whenver I ask about upgrading a plug, all I ever hear is it doesn't make a difference and isn't worth it.

Most exotic fuels in 2-cycle engines will work only with a "bean" type of 2-cycle oil. Do NOT use Saber Professional or any type of petroleum oil - they will not lubricate with those fuels.

In general, you are asking for trouble!!!!!

I put a set of Champions in my Yamaha 50hp 2 cycle and it ran so rough and would not idle. That alone made me a believer in NGK for any 2 stroke motors.
