    oops

fishing alone in my quick flip 2 and got out to get something from the truck and did not hook the door open well it blew shut against the heater and melter the corner including the zipper thanks to TARPS in savage it's good as new Second oops, bought my wife a new pair of la cross boots we went up to lake of the woods I have a 10in auger she has small feet just getting set up guess who steps in the hole, well i got her dry socks and thought well I'll just set the boot by the heater cooker, well next thing I know there is a funny smell and looked over and the top of the boot is smoking - now there is a melted area on the top of her boot
  5. that's what I was gonna say
  6. if your in a pickel on the ice and have a lack ot traction let a few pounds of air out of the drive tires - not too much thou and be sure to stop asap and fill them back up again - you just want to let enough out to make the tires squat a little for more surface contact =-= this saved my bacon on big winnie when by 4x4 blew a hub and the wind was blowing the road shut
  7. heater cooker is the way to go number one it is low so it heats more air and you can keep it away from the sides of the shelter. Number 2 and this one is important - you can cook on it and as an added bonus it can run on 1lb tanks if you want to travel light
  8. That's an interesting way of looking at it Greybeard.
  9. bring a pot boil up some lake water and throw in the hotdogs, or lipton rice or noodles
  10. This is all great stuff guy's keep em comin

  12. Ever have one of those trips nothing seemed to go according to plan ? Well here is mine,Our Spearing trip over new years it all started with having to work on the snowmobile trailer lights, then when getting the snowmobile out of storage found the steering rusted tight from the bushing under the engine so had to pull engine while doing this I hurt my back, Then morning of trip my dad got stuck while hooking up to the trailer and had to shovel, on way up north lost l/r tail light on truck and tail lights on tailer, Got to lake and found atv tires almost flat due to -26 temps filled them with mini compressor, got out on lake and the good 'ol jiffy did not want to start finally got her goin and got our darkhouse's set up and the water clouded up. Next morning the ATV would not start had to jump start with truck got to house's and 2in of ice from over night, Sunday checked out of resort and truck would not start it took 3 hours of jump starting 2 fish house heater's 1 under oil pan and 1 under hood of truck and a can of starting fluid to get it started. To top it all off we only got 5 fish for 3 of us in 2days. and as an added bonus the big logo on the back of my new vexilar cold snap jacket peeled off. This will be a trip we will remember for awhile. =-= Please add your story I'd like to know we're not the only one's this stuff happened to.

  14. take a piece of black hose the kind that comes on a spool and put it over one end tine and bend it over and put it over the other end tine this will keep the tines from coming in contact with anything and should stay on just fine

    Vexilar mod

I understand what your saying you just cut the pvc down the side and then spread it open to fit over the handle and it stay's clamped on top, then just slide the float inside. I have the fl-18 with a blue soft pack adn just unzip and stuff inside it works great
