alot of snow eaqules alot of weight, nothin worse than going out to your house and finding it in a slush hole, do ya go in to try to pull it out or leave it till the slush freezes and then chisle to an entire day. Pull it off, or at least to a spot on shore where the ice is froze solid to the ground. Pull it is your best bet.

I had a perm in a slush hole after a Feb thaw. I was fortunate enough to get to the lake and pull it it before it froze up again. Even that was a 'beach' getting that house off! Pull it off and potentially save yourself ALOT of WORK!!! As someone said, at least pull it into shore where the lake's froze to the bottom. Phred52

I've always kept my shacks on blocks and raise them up higher with more blocks when things get slushy. I've yet to have a shack freeze down. Keeps me a bit off the ice though and it's more difficult to see my bobber when I'm up 8 inches. At least it's easy to chisel blocks out of the ice.

I pulled mine off last night. It really bites. The forcast up here is now up to 20". The ice is only 9" thick on my favorite lake. Now with all this snow we will have a hard time getting a 4 wheeler through it and there is not enough ice for a truck. dang nab it.......

I would jack-um up nice and high for sure. Rather lower one then chip one out latter on personally.

Definitely do it before you reopen any holes after the snow. It will flood the area around the shack guaranteed with the new added weight of the snow.
