ikatcher
i got a ticket for going 110 mph in a fifty five and received a fine. i did have to appear in court because on the ticket the trooper checked a box that said i was driving in a way that was endangering life or property. LMITOUT
When was this? The "100 mph rule" was enacted just a handful of years ago so it's relatively new. Unless the penalty was bargained down in court the law says you WILL lose your license, period. The license isn't revoked until the Department of Public Safety receives the conviction, so I'm guessing Peterson still has his license. zamboni
Well, he more than likely has a Texas license, and a Minnesota court can't take that away.
croixflats
They can take his driving privileges away for the state of Mn.You maybe right LIMITOUT but I think there are certain violations that the DMV will enforce a suspension before conviction like a DWI and certain reckless driving citations. In the eyes of the DMV you are guilty and the court appearance is your appeal.
zamboni
If he has a Texas license, they can't take it away. The state can inform Texas and have points taken off it, but they have no control over out of state licenses.

Unless there is reciprocity which I would assume is possible, but who knows with Texas laws. FYI - You can lose your MN license if you do over 100 mph in another state, or any other offense which would cause revocation in Minnesota. Sorry, no get out of jail card in MN just because someone screws off over state lines!!
SledNeck
that cop should be fired

A few years ago a certain coach for the Vikings got a DUI, then went to WI and got a new license with his vacation/hunting houses address on it and they didn't catch on. UNTIL it was on the news. Amazing what imformation the LEO's have at their finger tips to help them protect us. Some comunities now have technoligy that reads the license plate automaticly and runs the data base looking for anything bad about the owner of the vehicle. Scott M
Good statute find LMITOUT. I guess we'll see if AP needs that chauffeur! I thought Chris Johnson was the only back with game-changing speed.
Scott K
Hopefully he doesn't end up getting suspended for his speeding ticket, we need him on the team the rest of the way!
Inthehollow
I can not say for sure but if a speeding ticket gets you suspended who would be left in the NFL. Hey he was not drunk he did not shoot any one and a BMW will not pull the love boat so call it a mistake and go on tells me he is human... Duffman
I think he should be suspended from the NFL season thru week 16!!! (due to injuries, I'm stuck starting Chester Taylor for the stretch run in my FFL)

delta dude
Read he will be walking for six months. The comment that nothing should be done till after the superbowl is just [PoorWordUsage]. What if he plowed into someone and they died. Would we wait till after the playoffs to charge him? Oh yeah where is the famed Vikings code of conduct now? Scott K
He will have to go to court, then they will suspend his DL. The court date was probably set some time in Feb. So it will be after the SB before he is found guilty anyway. Then the NFL will determine if he should be suspended. I doubt he will, there are plenty of other players out there getting by with a lot more, and not getting suspended, and if they do, it is for a game and a fine. Either way, it most likely wont be imposed until next season anyway!
ANYFISH2
Holy cow, It a speeding ticket and probably a reckless driving. I think most of us have gotten a speeding ticket before, I sure hope i am not suspended from work for that! As far as 109mph the law and court will punish accordingly. Lets not put these guys higher on a pedistal than they already are!
Mr.Seaguar
I never got a ticket way over the limit, But when I had my Olds with the 403 the guy I was racing got a ticket going 138. He got gross over limit and racing. But his lawyer argued that there wasnt a race because they couldnt see the other car. So they dropped the racing. Good thing I was way ahead of him. That car would go. I dont blame anyone for going as fast as their car can, you need to know what you are dealing with.
