Steve Foss
George Santayana: "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." I doubt ole Georgie was talking about the Vikings, but since the shoe fits . . . We'll see this season whether they've learned enough from their history not to repeat it. A 1-4 Super Bowl record will look a lot better than an 0-5 one. Not to mention it'll be easier on the purple indigestion than the verbal/typed drubbing you guys will receive on this board if you wee-wee it down your leg AGAIN. Rick, how many times is that now you've used the "has-been" line? Wait, lemme do a search. I'm sure we're into double digits. It sounds like that old material has crossed into the "has-been" realm. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 13, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 13, 2009 Actually this is only the third time below: Steve Foss is now saying AGAIN in veiled terms.... "You guys may be winners now but at least our Packers are HAS BEENS" The above is Steve's and other packer backers favorite term when their Packers are losing and the Vikes are winning. As packer backers keep using it over and over we may have to use it a few more times so you can see how redundant your own rhetoric is. If the shoe fits Steve
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 13, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 13, 2009 As for the Pack losing they are definitely better than one might think by looking at their record and whom they most recently lost to. One loss is to Cincinnati who appears to be a very good team this year and Half of their losses are to the Vikes. No shame in that
Steve Foss
Rick if the Packers are has-beens, then the Vikings are never-beens.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 13, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 13, 2009 Actually the Vikes are a team to be reckoned with right now. I'm certainly happy with where they are currently at. Can you packer backers say the same?
Cooter
We can't say it right NOW, but we HAVE been able to say it!Yeah the Pack is better than what the record shows - thats why myself and others are sick of Mike and Ted. Sure a lot of that goes on the players but its part of the coaching staffs responsibility to get every ounce of talent out of them.

B@ssDoctor
Rick if the Packers are has-beens, then the Vikings are never-beens. Sorry Steve, as I usually don't correct people when they mistype: if the pack are has been's, then the Vikes are gonna-bees...
Steve Foss
then the Vikes are gonna-bees Someday. You hope.
Born2Fish
We will forever hear the worn out talk of the Packers having won a Superbowl. Personally, I could care less if the Packers have won 100 Superbowls and the Vikings were still a O'fer. What really matters is what they are doing right now. Which is running FAR away with the division. How does it smell down there with the Bears and Lions? I know the smell from the top is pretty sweet(Minnesota air always smells good anyway, except when that team from Wisconsin comes to town!). So please keep living in the past Packer fans, because the Vikings are playing for NOW. The past counts for nil, if you can't play worth a turd right now. pegleg
Yes, well said Born2fish... With the Bears and Packers in fighting going on it could smell pretty good for the Vikes for a couple of years or more. Bears give up 2 first round draft choices for Cutler, Packers can't seem to decide what is more important to be young or an experienced team. Lions are the Lions. Life is good!! Except these aren't the teams you have to worry about. Many who wear the purple will see this season as a failure unless you win a Super Bowl, and while the lack of success from division rivals makes you feel good, it ain't gonna get you anywhere except the opening round of the playoffs. Fish Head
Cooter- You say the pack is better than their record right after a loss to the only team in the NFL that hadn't won a game! I could understand if they had just lost a close game to one of the elite teams... but the Buccs???Its good to be purple.
Cooter
Exactly, they're 'better' than the Bucs but played with their heads up their arses again.
SkunkedAgain
I have no animosity towards the Vikings. I waited all of my life to see the Packers have winning seasons and then win a Super Bowl. It's more than overdue for Viking fans.Good luck and don't screw up! Many who wear green see last season and this season as a failure! While everyone that watches the green realize the green's season IS a failure. The green better hope that Rodgers isn't seriously hurt. He is taking quite a beating. SledNeck
Terrible loss...but at least there isn't a show called "The Missing Rings" that the Packers are on! You should check it out sometime...very entertaining!!!! 0-4 BABY!!! I feel really bad for packers fans that they are bringing up the olden days at the midpoint of the season

I gotta mine these threads a little more thoroughly before I chime in next time. So much fun catching a glimpse of the gold ore of posts like this amid all the waste rock. LOL I try. RumRiverRat
RiverRat you have absolutely nothing to brag about. The Vikes haven't done squat in the post season. Where would you be with Jackson or Sage?? Just take a little time and think about it. I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikes [PoorWordUsage] the Divison away, I really wouldn't. Typical Packer Fan living in the past.
