ok guys,

my brother shot this beast yesterday morning at 8:30 a.m. on public land in southeast mn.

he was dogging a doe and chasing a couple of smaller bucks away from the doe, when my brother got a heart shot. ran 30 yrds and piled up.

what do you guys this guy would score? we had a little debate last night bout it. i am in no way a pro, this is the biggest deer ive seen in person. i was guessing 150 maybe pushing 160. what do you think. Not the widest rack or longest tines but has really good mass

Congrats ArcheryS. Lots of good bucks showing up on here this week. I have one to add once i get some better pics. Was to late yesterday evening to get any good ones.

Handgunner, not sure what your judging your dads buck by but it is one of the nicest that's has been posted on here all season. Anyone would be proud to tag it I assure you.

see now this deer is more believeable to me to be a 150 class buck.. are you guys noting that it could be the pic making the deer look monsterous? plus me poppa is only 5'6'' 5'7''

Handgunner,

There have been at least two responders that regularly measure antlers every year that have called your poppa's out as a stud. They're basing it off looking at the deer itself more than your poppa. It's big! grin And I think it's a beautiful rack. Even if you can't afford a shoulder mount this year you can plaque mount it and get one in a few years if you want it. Not saying you need it but if ever there was a desire to have one by your family I don't know if you'll have a better specimen to do it with.

Several really nice deer! Congrats guys!! cool

alright guys I'll take it LOL its just so hard to believe a buck like that could exist in our area. He must be one of the few. Sheeeeeeshhhhhhhh man thats some luck on both my dad and I since we both even were able to spot it at shooting range just that for me he was running and stopped for me pops HA! always thaught these kind of deer where like one in a million nowadays to get espicialy on public land that we hunt 2 weekends a year and everyone else hunts it more than we do and uses our stand spots!

He's not as big as some on here but I have to give respect to this guy I took on friday afternoon. I thought he was an older deer when I shot. Still a respectable buck I just wish I had let him go for another year or two.

Great pics everyone. I am happy to say my daughter took her first deer Friday afternoon about 10 minutes to 5. She made a perfect double lung shot at about 80 yards. She was able to follow the blood trail 20 or 30 yards down the logging trail. The deer was found just off the trail, in some tall swamp grass,

No pictures loaded yet, but watched 3 bucks chasing a doe thursday night and managed to plug the largest of the 3, haven't heard that much grunting in my life after many many deerless sits, that doe had a serious look of concern on her face. No wonder she was up and moving through the tamarac swamp.

Well a week ago I talked about a nice 5X5 on the trail cam. I said I hoped I had some pictures after the weekend well here he is. My personal best by alot. Sat in the rain Saturday and wait for him. http:full-1878-26365-30980_10151537479748902_

For reference I am a pretty big guy I weigh 290#. He has a 18.5" inside spread on him and his G2s are 10".

Looks like alot of people had good success this weekend. I was last on here Thursday. Congrats to all the hunters. My favorites are still the kids with there first deer.
