Best all purpose hunting boot?

Well my Rocky boots that I have had for probably 10 years now finally sprung a leak. They definatly served there purpose though. 10 years ago they were the best boot out there for the money. There is a lot more options today. What have you guys been using to stay warm and dry? I'm looking at a boot for the 32 to 0 degree weather.

I have owned rocky, cabelas brand, Merrell hiking boots and my current two pair of Danners. I have the 400 gram thinsulate Pronghorn danners right now and can wear those all winter unless I am sitting still, then I wear my rocky pac boots. My hiking boots are danner as well. I have problematic feet and the danners don't bother me at all. I will throw money at footwear that fit my feet and are comfortable all day......Irish setters didn't feel right but I have heard good things about them as well

I have had cheapo walmart Brahmas, cabelas bruins, redwings, cabelas outfitters, and danners. I have very problematic feet and I will tell you from experience that I can't wear any boot but danners. I have the Danner pronghorn uninsulated and they are the lightest most comfortable boot I have ever had on my feet. They feel like running shoes>>>just d*amn comfortable....you owe it to your feet to get the best boots that you can afford. But like everyone has said...try the boots on before you buy them.

i have a 9 year old pair of rocky 800 gram that finally sprung a leak (when stading in water 4-8 inches deep) but for dry applicatons the still work great. I have an uninsulated pair of cabelas brand boots for pheasant hunting that im on my 2nd hear with and they are comfy and lightweight. i'd reccomend either of these based on my experience

danner all the way, pronghorns are nice but if you wanna step up go with the sharptails or frontiers so many times you think you need three pairs of socks and 1600 grams of thinsulate not so much when you have danners if your feet are dry you will be surprised on how warm a 400 danner is...

I'm still wearing a pair of Kangaroo skin boots from LL Bean that I bought over 12 yrs. ago and hunteed hard in them every season. Gore-tex lined and man is that Kangaroo skin some tough stuff. Way comfortable too.

Danners are awesome too. So are Orvis boots, but I think they're made for Orvis by Danner.

last year I had Irish Setters and Deciced to upgrade to Danner pronghorns this summer and havent looked back. I really like the support they offer and tread pattern grips every thing from tree trunks to muddy banks. These are the best boots I have ever had. If your worried about the 400 grams not being enough grab a pair of poly socks and wool ones to go over them and it will be like having a 800 gram boot.

So I went to put on my stuff to go pheasant hunting this afternoon and realized I forgot to put my boots on the boot dryer (since they leaked yesterday). I did find a pair of boots in my garage that were like brand new yet and then remember buying them about 8 years ago. I didnt remember why I stopped wearing them until about five minutes into hunting when I could feel my heals starting to blister. I got home to find a blister the size of a quarter on the back of both of my heals! I NEED NEW BOOTS!!!

I would definitely consider Danner's. My dad gave his Danner's to me to a couple of years ago. He wore them for 10+ years and gave them up because he felt like they were getting to be too heavy. I wear them all the time. They are extremely comfortable and warm. My feet only get cold when I'm stand hunting for any length of time (which is tough to avoid with most boots). They are spendy, but if I ever wear out the ones I have I wont go with anything else.

The most important part of a hunt. Nothing but Danner here. Have tried them all Rocky, Cabelas, Wolverine. Danner lasted 11 years of pure hell between ducks pheasents deer and ice fishing. Key is to keep em dry with a boot dryer and always a good insole dont be afraid to try one every foot is different. Danner elk hunter 10" love the extra height!

Another Danner guy here. I have many other boots as well, but Danners are probably my best boot I have for hunting. I do have a Hiking boot made by Hi-tec from Scheels that has been a good and comfortable boot that I use for work a lot. especially for the price of $70.
