JOHN T jr.
I too was a part of the "ZOO" on opener for a long time. Now I will set on the dock and enjoy the show. The 'once a year',fair weather fisher people will provide the entertainment for the weekend. Be safe out there.
HeviShot
I don't think I would call opener fair weather fishing, its usually snowing.
CALVINIST
Well, I took all of opener week off. On opener saturday I'm going to my brother's in Cambridge and fish a little lake up there. Sunday I must return home and spend the day with Mother's!Monday I'm going to LOTW. I haven't been to LOTW for years, but many great memories from my youth belong there. I'll be visiting a buddy's cabin by Morris point. He say's the wally's should be going pretty good.Return early thursday, I'll come home, make some supper for the family and head out to a local lake for the evening bite. Friday morning, who knows, I'm sure I'll find someplace to fish. After all that I might be too toast to do any more fishing, but we'll see! JakeJ_Mn
Since I'm new to the Bemidji area - and don't have a boat right now(long story) I will try wader fishing for walleyes at the Lake Irving landing at midnight and then the Mississippi below the Winnie Dam during the opening day for walleyes - then hopefully have a fresh fish lunch and find a good place to take a nap. Good luck to everyone.

Chode2235
Opener was almost 2 weeks ago... for trout. Its an annual pilgrimage I make every year. It is tough fishing those small clear streams, but so much fun to be out and walking the river valleys of SE MN.
