Chef
I'm sitting here reading these responses and laughing my A$$ off!I can't believe how many great movies didn't come into mind as I put my original three down.Private Ryan--wow, I love that movie too. For realism and gut-feeling effect. True. Also, the Deer Hunter is just a little intense--whoa.Kelly's Hero's is great fun. We Were Men. Braveheart. For those of you who love Fast Times at Ridgemont, you MUST read the book by Cameron Crowe--it's ten times funnier than the movie if you can believe that and it's only 100 pages, so you can read it in in about 2 hrs.Did anyone else ever see Jackie Gleason in Chico? He played a deaf-mute who was the town whipping boy--talk about a tear jerker.Steve Foss--Being There--Love it! Peter Sellers last movie before he died. He was great in House Party and the Pink Panther movies. Steve Martin--you should be so talented.

jparrucci
Greatest ever? Godfather IMy favorites would include Godfather I & II, Saving Private Ryan (was on TNT last night).I think those 3 are the best of all. I think you can judge a movie by when flipping throught the channels, is that movie going to make you stop and watch it every time, regardless of how many times you have seen it?Others that make me set down the remote are: Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, Major League, Dumb and Dumber, The Shawshank Redemption, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Tombstone, Pulp Fiction, Blazing Saddles, The Sandlot, and the first 3 Indiana Jones. Anytime I'm flipping through channels, and one of these is on, its pretty much a safe bet that unless its the 4th quarter of a game that I've been watching, I am going to stop on watch one of these. New releases that might make this list as time goes on include Gran Torino, and No Country for Old Men-loved both of those.
Raider4ever
D'oh!!! How could I forget "Kelly's Hero's"!!! Yes Eastwood, Savalas, Sutherland, and O'Connor were good. But, the Casting Director should of gotten an Oscar for slotting Don Rickles as "Crapgame". Pure genius.Tear-Jerkers for Guys: Brian's Song and Old Yeller

Chef
Dances with Wolves is a great movie. What ruined it for me was hearing that Costner renegged on some promises he made to the Lakota for them helping with production and location. Not sure if it's true for sure, but I didn't hear anything to the contrary.Jeremiah Johnson is awesome too. How about The Great Escape? A Bridge Too Far?
