anyone watching this? the U.S. won a good game today against canada. I like the fact that we can watch some baseball that means something this time of year. some of these teams are like all star rosters.

I had planned on watching, but after I lost my job, I cut the dish off. Right now I'm watching the Twins beat the Yankees in game two of a double header. Frank Viola is looking great and leading 9-2 in the sixth inning. Pucket is smoking the ball in every at bat and the Twins haven't had an error in eight straight games. I think the game was in 1988; didn't know I had this on tape.

the WBC is a travesty. the pitchers arent ready for it and start putting extra work on their arms that should be saved for the season that matters. the players should be with the teams that matter getting ready for the regular season.

they also pulled baseball from the olympics for this. thats the real problem.

pitchers, extra work? there's limitations on how many pitches or innings they can pitch. also these guys that are pitching knew about this a while ago, so they are prepared ahead of schedule. i like this idea and can't wait to see the u.s. win this thing. confused

I'm with crappie cats on this one. I watched the dude from Houston throwing 96mph fastballs and 90mph sliders the other night and he looked gassed. GM's and managers and fans with players playing have to be on pins and needles hoping somebody doesnt get hurt over a meaningless series. They are simply not ready for this, this early. Scrap the whole idea or go to amatuers etc. Say what you want about playing for your country, they should be playing for the teams that pay them.

Hats off to Bert and the Netherlands for moving on and upsetting the D.R. AGAIN!

Quote:
Even without injured Alex Rodriguez, the Dominicans featured David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, Miguel Tejada and Pedro Martinez, just to name a few. But in two games they couldn't solve an unheralded Netherlands pitching staff coached by former big leaguer Bert Blyleven.

Another thought that would make the WBC slightly less interesting but still fun to watch (and appease owners, fans and the MLB alike) would be to not allow any current professional baseball players to play in it. This would have to mean not only the MLB but also for the Japan league as well. If guys are on the spring training roster then that would cut them out from contetion. Minor leaguers would still be able to play.

Lets see who has the best players who still live in that country.

Thoughts?

the only problem with that then is how do you determine professional? The Netherlands players were profesional players just don't make that much....I think the highest paid player was at $40,000 in the dutch league but they are still not as good as some of our minor league players....and our minor league players are profesionals as they get paid also.............

I think the pros like to play in it though cause they get to represent their country and they also get to get out of spring training and play in some decent ball games......but it does suck when someone gets injured and then there season is ruined.....and the fans season!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
