Sandmannd
The bears did pretty good a couple of years ago with a junk QB. They'll be decent this year.
jigging-matt
They were just talking on ESPN on how bad the Offense is looking in Chicago. I like cutler, and would have liked to see him in purple, but not for 2 1st and a 3rd. Way to much.
FISHINGURU
glad we didn't get him for that price...i'd rather have sage for a 4th anyday
Slowhand
This thing just wont die....what will [PoorWordUsage] you purple faithful off more is when we get to see him 2 times a year playing within our division [PoorWordUsage] I love it when I'm right....you gotta excuse me now, I gotta go shine up my BurgerKing-style GM hat. fishindon
This is perfect. Chicago wins the division easily and you know who is history in Viking land. Only can hope they unload T-whatever at the same time.
Born2Fish
If anyone seriously thinks that Cutler is going to turn around the Bears...You really need to wake up!! They have NOTHING besides Hester at WR. And that is not saying a lot for Hester either. I really do not consider him a #1 receiver. He is fast, and has tons of agility, but he is short. He never played the position before being thrown into it. But the Bears also just lost 2 first rounders, a third rounder, and their best QB. If Cutler busts, this could hurt the bears pretty bad. croixeyes
Thats a chance ill take.As a fan of the monsters,I love this trade.Bears also signed Orlando Pace for 3years to shore up the Oline. He,s old but hopefully has some game left. There are still some talented WR out there so you never know, free agency could boost our odds even more.Chi has been clamoring for a good Qb for ever and here is their chance. If it all flops I wouldnt mind,at least they are putting an effort to win now and not wondering what if. jigging-matt
Not quite sure how Pace will shore up the O-line when he spends more time injured lately than he does on the line.
KMR85
As usual Ruesse talking out of his arse.Gee I wonder why we would possibly want a 25 year Pro bowl QB. Good Grief. My thoughts exactly. I can't stand Ruesse. You can tell just from the titles of his columns that he writes 'em. The guy doesn't do any research, he just writes his opinion in every article. koonie
Without looking it up. Name two wide recievers for the Bears, other than Hester. Hester isn't much of a reciever IMO.

Slowhand
They dont have "name" recievers on their team, but look for a superb year from that Olsen kid @ TE.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
I love it, I see six pages of Queen fans drooling over Cutler and how they would sell both of their kidneys for him but the second he goes to my beloved....DA BEARS, it is, whiner this and no recievers that and blah blah blah. Enjoy your season watching T Jack, we got a 25 year old Pro Bowler and got them to take Orton off our hands! Look at the Bears last 20 1st round draft picks and you tell me if this trade was worth it. This draft looks to be chock full of recievers and Jerry Angelo can do wonders in the lower rounds. I think we will finally get to see a Pro Caliber QB here in the Windy City...its been a long time...heck its been forever in my book. Look at all our qb's during Brett Farve's career at GB and you can see what a top notch qb can do for a teamGO BEARS!
goblueM
well if you must gloat about your 1st round record being worse than my Lions, by all means go ahead and do it. I guess in 2 or 3 years we shall see who got the best of the trade

Lemme preface it that I am a Vike fan. Ye, I get a kick out of it as well....I wonder what this thread would have looked like if The Purple would have been the ones getting Cutler. Congrats on your new QB WindyCityWalleye, and better yet, enjoy watching. You guys have been overdue for a pro-bowl caliber qb.
Mudcutter
Cutler will improve the BEars off,,, but who else is their?? A game changing RB, not. A big league WR?? Not. Cutler had alot more to work with in Denver with the offense.Would I have liked to seen Cutler in purple,, heck ya, becasue than AP would have less 8-9 man fronts with a feared QB--- but not for that price. 2 first rounders and the garbage thrown in,,, really puts the pressure on Cutler with less talent around him than in Denver. Unless they get more weapons on off,, I see the BEars as 8-8. Orton, when healthly was underrated at QB so this move IMO is giving up too much unless you have the weapons NOW to work with. Born2Fish
Im just not seeing it. He won't have anyone to throw the ball to. Forte is good, but still has a lot to prove. The Broncos seem to be semi excited about getting Orton. Not sure why. I talked to my good friend who is a Broncos fan through and through, and his exact words about this trade were: "Thank you Chicago, you can have our clubhouse cancer for your clubhouse leader!". Kinda can't argue with him there. Orton may not of been the leader of that team, but from what I hear the guys there really respected him. I also give congrats to the Bears for landing this guy. Im just not too sure he is your answer to take you to that next level.
Slowhand
Whats your definition of gamechanging rb? Matt Forte is a solid rb, and should be better in his 2nd season. Forte was better than any rb they had in Denver last year. Do the Vikings have a better overall backfield combo of Peterson/Rosenfelds,T-Jack than Cutler/Forte....ye, because Peterson is a special back, but that doesnt mean Forte is chopped liver. slabchaser
I think the bears and the broncos both got a good deal out of this. The Broncos got a ton of picks for cutler which is good because cutler wanted out. the bears got a great qb. that being said, childress might be eating a little bit of humble pie after this season. passing up on a great qb because there was something your coaching staff didnt like, well i would be worried about my job if i was chilli if i loved the team i had now. we have some great players but something isnt getting put together it might be the qb(sage is not the answer) or it could be the coach and in due time they will get rid of childress. count your days childress your time is getting short.... Mudcutter
gamechanging is someone who comes to mind when you bring up the team name--- Giants/Jacobs/Manning-- PAts/Brady/Moss etc. Vikes/AP-- putting up nearly 300yds in one game agst the Bears is gamechanging. that's recent--- in the past- rams/Faulk-- 49ers/Rice. Cowboys/Aikamn/Smith/IRvin-- get the drift. It's not Bears/Forte. IF the Bears have a game buster it's Hester as a return guy and the def-- but please, not Forte.Forte is not chopped liver. He's at best an above avg back-- not game changing. Your receiver corp... well... is chopped liver.-- as is the Vikes for the most part. Slowhand
Matt Forte is a solid rb, and should be better in his 2nd season. Forte was better than any rb they had in Denver last year. I will never be accused of saying Forte is a game changer . I take it you like offense....dont make me go pseudo-star trek nerdy on you and start dropping defensive game changers! zepman
Forte is a pro-bowl caliber running back in the making...add Cutler and it makes him that much better. He just hasn't been around long enough to for people to associate his name with da Bears. That will be changing soon.
walleyes12
Chicago doesn't have WR this year, but I bet any money they will find a couple Next year!!! Chicago will be decent, Bad move by the Vikings
fishinphilth
Without Forte the Bears would have been absoultely horrible last year. He was their offense. The Bears are going to be soild, but there are a lot of questions still. Offensive line is hurting. I am disappointed that the Viks havent made a move on a QB yet, but their is still some time left. But if they start the season with the QB's that they have it is going to be a long season. Hopefully I will be eating some crow for the last statement, but I just dont see it. fishersofmen
The Vikings only have one reciever so I don't see how it would have been a whole lot different here. Plus a good QB can make average recievers look very good. Not to worry folks, can I get a S A G E- Sage, Sage, Sage!!!
